Endless mode explanation please?
I just attempted my first endless mission in the Farmstead.
I survived the first two waves (20 kills), but had two heroes at 90+ stress. So after reaching the second room, decided to retreat. I figured I would get a few shards out of it, but not many. I got nothing.
How do you get rewards? I would have continued to fight until they died off, but was worried about losing my trinkets. Do you need to die to get rewards? Survive a certain number of waves?
Can someone explain how it works so that I don't keep wasting resources trying it out.

Think of it like a never-ending bus route going all around the world.

You can see the bus traveling along the route (progress bars). After going down the route long enough, the passengers hit a border checkpoint and an border officer (boss) will check their travel document (fight).

After a border checkpoint (boss), the bus comes to a stop to allow passengers to stretch their legs (heal/recover) or get off if they're tired of the ride, or no longer fit to travel for the time being.

The further that the passengers go on each individual trip, the more of the world they get to see at once (various monsters and bosses from other dungeons) and the more rewarding the trip is for them to continue along without stopping (more rewards).

Survive and fight through enough waves to fill the progress bar, and make progress to each boss fight. With each boss fight cleared and the rewards go up substantially for the next set of waves and subsequent boss fight.

Along the way, you have to face attrition (increasing stress and decreasing provisions)

I mean, or you just bring a leper, a jester, a vestal, and an abom or something. They bring all the provisions you need. The leper brings the pain, the vestal gots the heals, the abom can do a bit of everything, and the jester keeps everyone from freaking the ♥♥♥♥ out.

what happen to your stuff and inventory in the case of a party wipe? I was at 120 today and I wasn't sure if it would be better in terme of reward to leave or to just die....

You get rewards when you loot stuff, it's not separate from the normal loot mechanics. You'll know when you find some because it will appear in the loot window. The quest reward is normal cash prizes, not sure exactly how that works, but probably either per kill or per boss killed.

So if I have shards in my inventory, I can leave with them at any time? That's fairly straightforward. Thanks.

Do we get Shrieker quest for trinkets lost at Endless mode?

Could you please answer this?

tl;dr find boss, beat boss, leave dungeon for current rewards or continue deeper for more rewards.

Yes. The best analogy. He really nailed it. :)

But do we get our trinkets lost at endless mode? Is Shrieker Quest working for CoM DLC?

Yes. All lost trinkets appear in Shrieker quests. That is the entire point of its existence.

Of course. But I was fearing for a "needs patch" issue. So did you see it yourself? Is it confirmed? Could you please tell me?

It's a known mechanic.

Are you honestly asking me to confirm one of your suspected fears isn't true?!

Yes. I just wanted to be sure. I will take your word for it. Thank you.

Also you really explained the endless mod with a beautiful analogy. Kudos!

How does it work on Bloodmoon? I assume the bosses are somewhat tougher, but what about the trash mobs and other mechanics? Thinking of doing a Bloodmoon run now that Darkest seems too easy, but having Endless be even more of a pita isn't that appealing.

That analogy...perfect in it's simplicity, posts like this makes me wish for an upvote system...but then I remember the forum as a whole.

Kudos
