Abomination is a R1-3 Stunner with mid-rank DoTs, so anything that benefit (or further compliment) this will work well with him. His downside is lack of Rank 4 attacks, so make sure your composition can remedy this.
Examples:
R4: Vestal (back rank attacks + stun)
R3: Plague Doctors or GraveRobbers work well in R3 as they can compliment the Abom's Blight damage, but you can also slot in any other ranged damage dealer you prefer, be it Arbs for co-healing, HWM, Hounds for stress, even a Jester for stress.
R2: Abomination (front/mid stuns)
+
R1: Bounty-Hunter (extra damage vs stunned targets with Finish attack) or...
Hellion (double front stun, allows Abom to work on Rank 3 with everyone else - can Swan Rank 4 if required) or...
MAA (his rampart is both a stun and a knockback, allowing for more control and setups) or...
Crusader, Leper, whatever you want.
You can swap Vestal to Occ if you want even more options. TLDR, the Abom has countless composition options due to him being a fast stunner and burst-damage dealer, which is good for mostly any group.
Again, compliment the Abom's stun potential with heroes that can either capitalize on it, enforce it, or destroy the back-rank. Stun is your bread & butter with the Abom. If a fight appears that calls for bigger burst, that is when you transform and go for R3 one-shots or front-rank AoE damage stacking. Otherwise, all you will be using for the most part is his chain-whip, with situational blights.
What are the current meta builds for Farmstead and Crimson Court missions? Need to put one together.
Yes, you can team multiple abominations together. However, I'd recommend never going with more than 2 considering they have no Rank 4 projection (and taking more than one means less heroes that can fill in for that), plus they have no real options in Rank 1 (human form) or 4 (either form) except to spam their self-heal.
They work optimally in Rank 2 primarily but can also function 90% from rank 3.
Taking more than that just means you have two barely usable humans. They can't do anything from Rank 4 in beast form or Rank 1 from human, so leave it at 2 Aboms max.
TLDR, it takes practice/care with multiple aboms but not too difficult.
Healer / Abom / Abom / Damage is pretty standard fare, so something like Vestal/Occ + Abom + Abom + something like a Hellion would easily work. Vestal can snipe/stun the backline, Hellion can manage the front (or swan the back) while your Aboms keep all non-priorities stunned. If needed, you can transform and go ham, but do it sparingly. Three of four have DoT's for beefy targets, but Occ instead of Vestal could also help there with marks.
They combo well with Grave Robbers.
For example,
Grave Robber, Healer, Abom, Tank.
Lunge with GR on first round to bring it to position 2, pushing the Abom back to 3.
Use Abom to stun and poison. Note that Grave Robber can do additional dmg to poisoned targets.
