No food provisions for Farmstead missions?

I was going to check out the farmstead for the first time but noticed that food and torches are not available from the vendor. I'm aware that no torches is a feature for this area, but is this the case for food too? Or have i come across a glitch?

It isn't a glitch. You are fighting an endless horde, so no corridors and so no food checks. If you check the wiki (https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Farmstead) you can find out what is different about the Farmstead compared to the rest of the levels.

I am curious though, why didn't you just go in and see? You mentioned it was your first time entering, seems a bit early to call anything a glitch, no?

Well, i did ponder that it may have been a feature to be fair. I didn't want to risk sending in my team with a possible disadvantage as well so I asked first.

They are available for me? You can eat to heal and rest if you run into the right curio between vawes. Maybe it's just the first mission that doesn't have them?

I can buy them. And good thing, too, because while you got no food check, you still can get camp breaks, and it's not very good to be starving there.

The food is probably only on offer for medium and long runs, I did a short run.

You did the short run. There's the seocnd veteran mission to kill the MIller after that, which has a caping spot right before you meet him. And after that, you get the Endless Harvest for lvl 6 heroes, which as the name impleis goes on forever until you decide to retreat, with breaks in-between that can also include a camping spot.
