Crimson Curse still way too common
I'm aware this got nerfed from getting it at virtually every 2 hits to ~19% - but it's still way too common. It makes the Crimson Court DLC just an annoyance because every run in the court is guaranteed to ♥♥♥♥ up some of your heroes(heard someone refer to it as "soft kills").

I mean if the Crimson curse was at least something you could rationally deal with I'd be fine with it being as common as, unironically, mosquitos. But it isn't. It's a massive debuff for half the dungeon run plus random full party sanity debuffs.

Why isn't there an option to disable it yet? It's nothing short of just frustrating.

No it really doesn't. For I enjoy the DLC besides the god awful curse. I just want the curse either out, made less common or have far less negative impact.

Hell I would've even been able to deal with it wasn't it for the repeated random team sanity debuffs.

You shouldn't probably even interact with the courtyard until you're ready, meaning having people who can kill them quick and plenty of blood viles stored up. and if they only infect one it could be a good idea to drop them so they don't infect the rest. If not you manage it, until you're strong enough to get rid of the curse.

So just turn off the Court itself and keep all the other DLC.

I don't disagree, but this is painfully poor design for DLC.

@Skinny Pete,

I'm probs going to do that, but I hate having to for I like the enemies and theme. Kinda pissed they refuse to balance the curse a little so the vast amounts of negative reviewers could actually enjoy the content.

What, you mean if you go into a den of vampires, you might contract vampirism?
"Accidentally looking at a mosquito and getting both yellow fever and malaria" is a more appropriate analogy here.

Thanks for the mods

I can rationally deal with it. What's stopping you?

Fact that it is completely ruining any form of fun because of how common it is?

Crimson Curse is anything but a 'soft kill'. It causes some annoyance in that you have to remember to bring Blood with you on missions, but actually look at the stat modifiers from the Curse. A Cursed character in the Passive state has +1 speed, -10% hp, -5% resists. That's hardly a 'soft killed' character. If that was a trinket it'd be arguably worth equipping on a lot of characters.

The biggest danger from the curse is bringing a Wasting character on a mission and forgetting to bring Blood too. It's easy to overlook and annoying when it happens, like when you realize you clicked embark but forgot torches or food, but the curse itself hardly makes a character useless. If it's a brand new off the stagecoach character, you might dismiss them to keep your blood consumption low, but it's actually useful to be able to put together a full infected party for some of the harder Courtyard missions, since Blood is often plentiful there and you can use Bloodlust a lot.

If all else fails, muck about with game files. They're easily editable.

I pretty much just only bring infected heroes for courtyard runs. Can't catch a disease when you already have it!

Running out of blood is a frequent problem, but periodically a mission in the courtyard pops up to go scavenge some, and you typically come back from that with 9-12 vials of blood

Pro tip: start a game with the crimsome dlc but dont go there ever untill u have finished the DD region(aka u won the game got the braging rights u are swiming in cash and coudn't care less if yr entire roster gets decimated and reach a state of no recovery(aka bankruptcy with a full crimsome roaster with no blood at all)
Pro tip: if masochism is yr defining caracter trait then: go torchless stygian& head into the courtyard as soon as u can :steamfacepalm:

Actually, doesn't the Crimson Court cause a town event lowering sanity healing that lasts until you finally go into the court? It does kind of drag you in there.

I'm fine with it, it's just that I don't think that it's so simple to start with the DLC turned on and then ignore it indefinitely.

As I see it, the Curse is the reason to head to the Courtyard. You don't want too many characters with the Curse, simply because of blood consumption and the Fanatic. So I play along with the regular game, and start dipping into the court once I've got a full party (or 3/4ths of one) infected, and only complete the area once I have trouble fielding a party in a regular dungeon that won't bring forth the Fanatic. Play it this way, and it works out fairly well.

I do think the Courtyard could have been implemented in a less 'pushy' way, but I found it didn't bother me too much.

the crimson curse is not as bad as it looks, you just have to regule your stock of blood and dismissing useless heroes who got it.
i love that it immunise to any other diseases, and some of them are a lot worse :p
