Would get Criston Court DLC and Shieldbreak (super cool class
i don't see what's so bad about CoM, people were expecting a $5 dlc to be the same size as crimson court for some reason
also it's funny unholy says CoM lacks content, yet recommends the shieldbreaker DLC which is
$4 full price. shieldbreaker only adds a couple new gameplay mechanics, 1 class + its trinkets, and a pain in the ass campfire nightmare battle with 3 new snake enemies
somehow for unholy, $4 shieldbreaker DLC isn't lacking content but $5 CoM adding a new gamemode, new tilesets, new mechanics, a ton of new trinkets for many classes, more than 3 new enemies, new music, new district buildings, and new bosses is considered lacking content
it's perfectly fine to not enjoy arena/endless type gamemodes, but you can't honestly say CoM lacks content for $5, especially when compared to what you get for $4 with shieldbreaker
so true
wait for it
you can start CoM at any time. the first level requires level 0-2 heroes, then it goes on to veteran heroes, then champion heroes. the endless mode is the champion-difficulty farmstead mission but after you beat the veteran mission you unlock mercenaries specifically for the endless gamemode.
there's a new "thing from the stars" boss that will wander random dungeons but if you want to avoid it, the game always tells you what dungeon it'll be in when you choose a mission. you don't really need to avoid him though becuase he's not all that hard and he has a chance of giving a hero unique positive quirks upon kill and he can drop unique trinkets.
other than the thing from the stars wandering, it doesn't effect your base campaign at all. i also could be wrong, but i don't think the thing from the stars wanders until after you beat the very first CoM mission.
i'd recommend it if you like the idea of an arena based gamemode with decent rewards, but if you're not too keen on it then i'd definitely wait for a sale or skip it. i just wanted to call out unholy's claim about CoM lacking content.
I don't see what's so bad about expecting something half the price to be around half the size.
Well..expect vs. expect. It was predictable since the shieldbreaker already came out, so we know Red Hook likes pricey DLC.
