Thoughts on Color Of Madness
Seeing that CoM is the closing DLC for DD what did you like about it? What changes you approve whawt changes have not appeased you?
-----------------------------------
Personally I liked the overrall changes, some nerfs I believe were unecessary, but most buffs were well placed, specially the trinkets.

I expected the crit buffs across the board that followed the patch to make the game much harder and punishing. But so far it seems to have made the game easier. The enemies crit roughly the same, while my guys now crit all the time. So that was a positive surprise. The increased crit rate also makes up for slight stress heal nerfs. I'm very positive so far.

The new trinkets are pretty cool, but don't think I'll be using them much over the CC trinket sets, boss and ancenstor trinkets. Just stuck in old routines perhabs.

The new quirks are really nice and add some more flavor to different classes.

With that said, I haven't had time to test every class proberly yet and can't speak with certainty. But so far I am very pleased.

The game is garbage now. Starting with the developers trying to dictate how a single player game should be played and wrecking the game with a host of bugs and issues that did not exist 48 hours ago. If this is their swan song for the game, they left it battered and in disarray.

Really, what did they do? I only just started a new campaign a few hours ago and didn't notice major changes at all. I read about how they fixed the stalling exploits, but that's about it.

They just corrected stalling exploits, buffed some things and nerfed others. If you are unsing non-updated mods your game WILL break. The Devs themselves said that. After playing 6 hours I did not find any bug/glitch, except one with a Moodded class, which was just consuming his self mark at the end of the turn. But so far game is perfect. With the changes the normal game and modded game have been very enhanced. Could you expand more and share your thoughts in a bit more... specific way?

Not using any mods whatsoever. And for those of you starting new runs, try continuing an existing run before the forced patch hit. Personally, I didn’t care one way or the other about the “stalling exploit”, until the developer stepped in (to a single player only game) and decided to dictate how the game should be played. One players exploit is another players strategy (if you cannot appreciate that distinction, then I do not know what to tell you).

I suppose you all just love your activity log resetting to week zero, your party realignment causing heroes to disappear, your trinket inventory panel breaking the next/previous hero toggle, on and on and on. GG developers. Maybe next update they will force what gamma settings players are using on their monitors so they can guarantee their vision of a dungeon experience (and not yours).

That's what I did, and the only bug I've experienced is that week counter has reset.
It really sucks that all of those things are happening to you though.

I'm more concerned with the lore and 'story' part of the campaign, is it like CC in that regard or is it just geared towards rush mode?

At this point I am thinking about just starting a new run from the beginning to see if that can smooth some of these quirks out.

Don't worry, as far as I've found out, the Ancestor is also to blame for this mess at the Miller's Farm.

Thanks, I might not get it then. I like the 'purpose' of the base and previous dlc, it's not a critique about his new one, it's just not for me. Thanks for letting me know.

It's nowhere near the length of CC. It's pretty short and you can blaze through it quickly, but for price tag of 5 eurobucks it's certainly worth it.

The new crit buff system is awesome. I want to marry it.

I feel like it is easier to manage stress, and I don't necessarily need a dedicated stress healer all of the time.

IMO, combat is too easy now. Like mentioned before, my heroes crit all the time now, I don’t really need to worry about stress as much. With the right party comp, you can get your heroes to have an average ~70% crit rate.

In terms of the quests, it’s not as big as CC as was previously mentioned here, but it was fun to play through. New enemies, new bosses, new modding tools (I.e buffs), new Wayne June lines, just pure awesomeness. Definitely worth the DLC’s price.

I will give the developers props however for issuing a hot fix about ten minutes ago that is making an attempt at resolving some of the more glaring issues:

Fixed a crash and issues around using the Default Party Order button
Attempting a fix for the issue with Campaign Activity Log’s resetting or losing weeks.
FIxed an Error around Missing Mashes

I don't like the global crit increase and I hate the stress tweaks they made + capping some skills which is connected with stalling problem. New anti stalling mechanics are a rather dramatic move. If someone wants to play one run for 10 hours I say just let them, who cares. They can just mod the game anyways if something isn't as they want. Personally the only time I stalled was at the 2 raptures in DD sicne it was easy. Why punish everybody and "rebalance" everything around a minority that abuses stalling?

Crit buffs are nice, new "dungeon" is cool (good enough for 5$). New district that turns off hunger checks is amazing and Abomination finally can go with religious characters (altough the whole religious system feels like it's in the game because nobody can be bothered to remove it). New special quirks (only one per roster) seem cool, altough I only have seen one so far.

Overall tho there is more good additions than bad ones.

The thing that really disappoints me is the lack of some reasonable features and tweaks like for example flagellant missing exanguinate and getting the debuff, same for hellion or that quest items and firewood etc don't stack still, like seriousely. SB getting ailments even tho she blocked the attack is annoying also. But it will never change now since this is the last DLC and major patch. Sad, sad.
