Hunger is a trap. Random tiles on the dungeon floor will occasionally result in a hunger check which requires your party to eat. Camping or consuming food for healing will not prevent a hunger check from occurring. Hunger checks may occasionally spawn when backtracking, just like regular traps. You can't have two hunger checks in consecutive hallways.
If you want to use food for healing, be sure to bring extra. Generally you should expect ~2 hunger traps in a short dungeon, ~3 in a medium, and ~4 in a long.
As you just found out, if you don't, you'll bitterly regret it.
s/he diggored too deep
and released mysterious "munchie gas"
when someone encounters munchie gas, they have to eat
even if they're chewing bits off themselves
as you might imagine biting a chunk out of yourself can be a damaging and stressful experience
so kids at home remember
munchie gas
u can't see it, u can't smell it
but when u get munchies now u kno why
