To trust you may just exclude the executive file Darkest.exe from McAfee scan plan, or just shut the antivirus/firewall.
To wait, is just wait. Not sure if this should be responsed to RedHook or McAfee.
SoI have restarted my computer, and re-installed the game. I would wilingly disable my mods, but I can't access those. I am getting "insufienct resources exist to complete the requested service" and then quarantine notice.
Tried switching off firewall briefly, but still can't start game.
Spy Turtle what antivirus are you using? This totally sucks.
This is the second I've done that. It said permissions for the program already exists, but I still can't start the game. Anyone else attempted to add this manually and still having the same problem?
Adding to exclusions worked for me fine. Are you sure the DARKEST.exe is still in "Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\_windows" and not in McAfee quarantine?

Yeah, so to be sure I re-installed a third time. Before starting up the game, added the exclusion. Same quarantine popped, and now the file is no longer in folder. I'm wondering if this a McAfee problem? Is that what you use?
Go to qurantine if you haven't and restore the file or redownload it.
The quarantine should only pop up if the exclusion didn't work. I would double-check to make sure the exclusion worked and the DARKEST.exe is under exclusions, then make sure you have that exe in the proper folder (shown in my other post).
Maybe also make sure that you don't have multiples of that file... Only thing I can think of for that...
There are multiple files quarantined, so I'm going to get rid of them and re-install, do the exclusion, then restore if necessary. Thanks.
The Darkst.exe in /windowsnosteam is fine, you can leave that alone, I have that as well and it works.
