You can do the main game and the dlc pretty much at the same time.
Its true that the bundle gives you a good price for the game plus dlc but again be sure that you like the gameplay.
I got the bundle, and while it's pretty clear the other people who say it does make the game tougher are correct, I don't regret that.
If you're the kind of cheap slug (like I am) who wants it all, though, you might wait a couple months for after the newest DLC comes out (it's coming out soon) for the inevitable sale where they sell the entire batch at half price or whatever.
It's not that I don't like supporting creators, it's just generally against my religion to pay retail.
(I will almost certainly buy Color of Madness at full price the day it comes out, though. This game is just that good.)
