Bundle?

Never played the game before, is it worth getting the game bundled with DLC or just base game?

The DLCs make an already hard game even harder, so it's best to start out without them, at least while you're learning the ropes

Your preferences are your own. So why don't you get the core game, then if you like it get the DLC?

You could watch youtube gameplay videos if you're unsure whether the core game fits your preferences.

Darkest Dungeon is a complete game on its own. The DLCs are not there to complement an imperfect game but because of genuine creativity and dedication toward the fanbase. You will be satisfied with the base game for a long time.

i was just wondering if it was worth getting the bundle off the bat since its a slightly better deal than getting them individually. So ill probably stick with the base game.

It depends on how many hours you're apt to put into a game like this. I already know I'll sink hundred and hundreds of hours into a game I like, so I would have been happy to grab the bundle. If you're more like, "Wow, 80 hours is a really, really long game" then skip the DLC, since you probably won't even finish the main stuff.

I say before buying either the core game or the bundle check some videos of the gameplay and see if it is something that you like.
You can do the main game and the dlc pretty much at the same time.
Its true that the bundle gives you a good price for the game plus dlc but again be sure that you like the gameplay.

I got the bundle, and while it's pretty clear the other people who say it does make the game tougher are correct, I don't regret that.

If you're the kind of cheap slug (like I am) who wants it all, though, you might wait a couple months for after the newest DLC comes out (it's coming out soon) for the inevitable sale where they sell the entire batch at half price or whatever.

It's not that I don't like supporting creators, it's just generally against my religion to pay retail.

(I will almost certainly buy Color of Madness at full price the day it comes out, though. This game is just that good.)
