Large flesh eater WTF
He just critted me for 54 and put me on death's door instantly. On a character that has 10% PROT. According to the wiki his tentacle devour can do a maximum of 13 damage. Which is increased by 100%, to 26 against marked targets (yes, he was marked).

Which means the absolute MAXIMUM he can crit for is 52. But he critted for 54. On a character that has 10% PROT. Explain this.

Not only that, but he hit EVERY attack. While I had 54 dodge. From an attack with 102% ACC. While I am missing attacks with 70%-80% chance to hit.

No mods. His bad traits have nothing to do with damage taken. Anemic, tone deaf, plutomania, hylomania.

Which lvl of carion eater?
sasiji Jul 22, 2019 @ 5:03am
I guess Champion one:
Ok then important information:
Dmg attack of carion: 107.5% base acc .dmg 10-20 crit chance 19%,

Bonus vs marked +100% dmg low and high (aka change 10-20 to 20-40)

Crit always mean (max dmg=40)×1.5->
so you get 60 dmg,

10% prot mean you get 90% of dmg.

60×0.9=54 Crit dmg from Carion eater large while being marked amd having 10% prot

Where did you get those numbers? I am using the wiki.

The most powerful attack of the champion version does 7-13 base damage. Not 10-20. Crit 17%. 102,5 ACC. The numbers are off. Have I been using the wrong site?

You're forgetting to apply his +100% damage vs marked. That brings his max damage to about what sasji said (26).

I did...26 maximum damage vs marked. Even if the crits doubled the damage as I initially thought, it would only do a maximum of 52 damage. But it hit me for 54. But since crits apparently only increase damage by 50% it would mean a maximum of 39 damage. I have no idea where he got those numbers. 10-20 base damage. But 10-20 damage seems closer to reality considering that crit on a 10% PROT character.

Question- did this occur in the Courtyard, or just the Warrens?

Numbers are from game itself.

I don't use wiki too often because there are a lot of fanfictions, Outdated informations or even false informations.
And crits are always (max possible damage) × 1.5

Yea i checked wiki, carrion eater information are outdated.

The wiki wasn't updated for the last major patch, which nerfed most monsters slightly, but buffed the large carrion eater into one of the most dangerous monsters anywhere.

skill: .id "tentacle_devour" .type "melee" .atk 107.5% .dmg 10 20 .crit 19% .effect "Damage Marked Target" "Carrion Devour Debuff 5" .launch 1234 .target 123

Gotta especially love large corpse eater + swine skiver pulls. The skiver wasn't nerfed at all.

Huh. They even nerfed the unclean giant.

skill: .id "club_smack" .type "melee" .atk 97.5% .dmg 19 37 .crit 16% .effect "Push 1E" .launch 4321 .target 12

I was thinking that a large carrion is now a faster unclean giant with reach, but no the giant can't crit for 60 anymore.

On the plus side, the sword fish used to be able to one-shot an unbuffed shieldbreaker in full dark, but now can't. Plus the spectral speartip now exists. Double unstunned/non-dead sword fish can still ruin a SBR's day even in full light and after buffs, though.
