The only use for them is building the Mill, though.
It essentially turns food into free healing. It's a somewhat eccentric design choice to give you these things when you'll only be able to afford them long after you need them at all.
Probably, don't even bother doing the whole 'mod' thing. Alter the base game files. If you screw something up or change your mind, you can use the steam verify function to reset them. Though if the game gets updated it's likely to revert your changes.
The mill is a terrible reward. It saves you a few bucks and an inventory slot.
Not only that, they made it so only someone who has already flagrantly won the game can possibly afford it.
Further, you can simulate the mill with a set of four bloodthirst rings or fasting seals.
