Journal Pages - worth collecting every one?
I only need the shieldbreaker pages to collect to have them all, do you get anything from them besides the in game lore (which is nice, but I'd love an achievement or an in-game reward like a special trinket - if not then of course it's fine, collecting them all for the lore is good too..)

To save me from posting another thread simultaneously (related to wolves at the door), is Vvulf a returning character even when you defeat him?

You don't get anything for collecting Journals. They're not worth carrying after you've read them all. There's even a mod that autosaves them so you don't have to take them with you after reading them.

And Vvulf will never show up again if you successfully kill him, though he will if you skip or fail the mission in which you fight him.

Excellent, thank you!

if you collect them all and take them home then they wont show up in loot windows anymore and thus you get more loot, passively.

Yeah I noticed that, they're stored in Ancestor's Memoirs. But if I do a new playthrough I wouldn't want to bother picking up every page and wasting inventory space (particularly on higher difficulty!) especially when the pages seem to be just for lore, which from my first playthrough I've very nearly got every page and read them all anyway

I use the autosaving journals mod. The only benefit to having them all is you don't get them any more. So far as I know, there are no situations where you get journal pages as loot where, if you're out, you get a different loot item instead, so there's no direct advantage to it.

It's an annoying, dumb mechanic because it never makes sense to take journal pages if you have literally any other item to take, but if you just threw them away every time, you'd never stop seeing these useless things cluttering your screen.

That really sucks hard! I'll check out the journal autosave mod, cheers!

Note, for that mod to work, I believe you have to actually read the journal pages. You can read them from the pickup dialogue box. Then you can just throw them away as usual.

Good to know, thank you! I'm quite sure now that I'll grin and bare the journal pages in my next save, it's a challenge to sacrifice the inventory space early on for them but when you acquire them you get through them and onto the loot, as Skinny Pete said. Collecting the pages for the memoirs page does feel in its own way an achievement even if there is no actual steam achievement!!
