Siren composition nowadays?
After a long hiatus I returned to DD.

So apprentice siren was cakewalk, lowbie anti, she snatched the anti 2x

Full of confidence, I walked into Vet. cove, only that this time, she completely ignored the anti, snatched my HWM 2x, 1. time he got a PBS off..*yikes*, my poor HEL

No harm done, but now its champ. time and I'm nervous.

Any tips? Party comp.? Others?

Thanks

You can't do the exploit of using an Antiquarian with deliberately lowered debuff resistance to get the Siren to attack her most of the time, but the same general strategy of just using a mediocre team still applies.

You want a shuffle-resistant team without any particularly great healers, so self-healers are good. VES/OCC are problematic precisely because the last you need is a crit single target heal when they're taken.

The only problem with the 'mediocre team' approach: I still have to wade through 4x groupers, crabs and other cove fun stuff...

I'm thinking about Cru-(Seo's) Sisters-PD-Arb/Mus. No scary heals, no scary 1-shots, sister *is* scary though but I doubt the AI can handle her complex skill interactions.

The wiki says:
Despite this, the Siren will always target the lowest resist hero first
, which raises 2 questions:

a) what resist? I assume, debuff, but
b) if that's true why didn't she snatch the anti, but the HWM?

Can anyone clarify? Thanks

The wiki isnt up to date there, she targets totally randomly with a flat 70% success rate.

Id suggest PD for not dangerous but effective blight damage, Occultist for mark synergy wit BH, who is also not as dangerous without mark (against you) and in the front id put a MaA for reposting, since he has mediocre damage but can capitalize on the sirens massive AOE spam.

--> PD-OCC-BH-MaA

Siren's counter is lots of zero-damage stuns. She takes someone, you stun them. PD-OCC-BH-HEL works extremely well.

IMO Pete's self-healer thing is a secondary concern, but the above party has two healers and a self-healer anyway.

I once brought a Vestal and a Leper with MAA battle buffs on the Leper and killed her in two hits but for obvious reasons this is a really bad idea and you shouldn't actually do it.

It's a great idea if you're going for comedy.

I don't bother trying to lower the team just because one might get stolen. At most, I'd be wary of something like a Leper - not just because his damage is nasty against a hero, but because being sent to the back after seduction is just as good as re-seducing him for another two rounds without shuffles. After all, half the time someone is seduced, they often use buffs or non-damage abilities. Most of the time I did bother taking a Leper, he spammed Solemnity, which was beneficial for all.

Honestly, when I want her dead, just grab good bleeders and watch her kill herself. Stuns are also handy.

My main change to usual Cove is just not bringing OCC to avoid the crit heal. I don't bring a VES either but I usually don't bring her to Cove anyway.

Something like PD/ANT/♥♥♥/MAA works fine. Maybe heal trinkets on the ANT, maybe even a silly dodge team with Smoking Skull/Ancestor's Coat on ANT and Sun Cloak/Camouflage Cloak on everyone else and spam Invigorating Vapors. That's not optimal but it's fun.

It really doesn't matter. Any even half-reasonable team will finish this boss pretty easily, I just don't kit everyone out with massive damage increasing trinkets and buffs like I ordinarily do, although I generally do boost ACC as much as usual.

Siren just isn't a very difficult boss.

Redeem is way worse than crit reconstruction. Ask me how I know.
