Vanilla.

Maybe if you are really impatient the movement/combat speed one.
Runiver Dec 21, 2017 @ 12:17am
Start with Vanilla

Then you can get most of the class mods that looks polished. A lot of them are actually really good.

For classes, Marvin Seo ones (Falconer, Lamia, Thrall and recent one Seraph) are absolutely top notch and practically indistinguible from real content. Best ones no doubt.

Muscarine classes are also good mechanically, maybe a slight OP imho, but personally I feel the art, whole certainly good in itself and with a lot of work behind, deviates too much from the intended game ambience.

Never tried other classes but heard good thing from Excaels (I think this the name, sorry not sure) ones.

For game overhaul, PITCH BLACK DUNGEON no doubt. Only after you completed BloodMoon minimum tho.

This game doesn't require QOL imho so not much to offer in that regard.

Only use skin mods, some of them are lore-friendly.

Darkest Dungeon is an excellent game by its own, and the Workshop extend the gaming time and enhances the great experience in DD. MY PERSONAL favorite list is as follows:

-as recommended Marvin Seo's Classes;

-ActionJack's Kraken boss, it is very cool to have another boss in the game!; --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1087665130&searchtext=kraken ---

-ActionJack's Boss Dreadnought, not too hard is mostly a random encounter mini-boss; --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1205942618&searchtext=ironclad ---

-ActionJack classes are good too! Ironclad and Cannoneer are very fun to play!!!;

-S-Purple "Cataphract", its art is absolutey polished and looks well placed, if it was original hero. It is not OP and is in the same level as a bit less powerfull hellion: --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1235319270 ---

-Carnifex "Warrior of the Sun" is a Dark Souls themed class and is very well polished and is always on the working to make it as balanced as possible. Totally recommended. His Darkwraith is comming soon too: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1122828159&searchtext=warrior ---

-Daoron's "Dragonslayer knight" (now also on PT-BR), using art by AceroSteel, is very balanced and have a very interesting mechanic, somehow like a hellion but exchanges power for movement, works wonders with Graverobbers and Jesters: --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1209578556&searchtext= ---

-O'Nightmare "Acolyte fo the Sun" and "Werewolf" also uses AceroSteel art and are well balanced and very well done: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=971313538&searchtext= --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135620886&searchtext=werewolf ---

-Balgin Strondaeg "Twilight Knight" is very polished and developed: --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1154908982&searchtext=Larger ---

-50% Larger Dungeons; --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=961929079&searchtext=Larger ---

-TheAmazingGregor "Mimics" is a mini-boss addiction to playthroughs, surprise all the way! : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1232771625
---

As far as I can state Muscarine classes are all ready and worked. I do like the art, seems off, and they are kind of OP sometimes, but it is still ok. Scorpiovaeden have been around modding quite a long time and have a ton of work and collaboration done to the community, you can try his work. I personally don't use neither, i feel the art being somehow off, but they are very good modders and have been working with the community to create all these wonders that Darkest Dungeon Workshop has to offer!! Alway keep an eye for new content, be classes or bosses, you might be surprised!

Good Playtime!!! And remember... OVERCONFIDENCE IS A SLOW AND INSIDIOUS KILLER...

-MaesterSilvio's piece of art, "Pitch Black Dungeon"; --- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=824200473&searchtext=pitch ---

I’m using only 4, only one of them essential:

Fully Lit Darkness: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=839740177

UI Enhancement: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=879079478

Have you tried Daorons Dragonslayer? It is very fun to use him. And he is not OP. Feels almost Vanilla for me (as much as the Cataphract).

I like Caedwyn version, but for me at least Daoron's is more lore friendly.

Forget the other mods, this is the only one you'll ever need.

Yeah agreed but I don't really care when it comes to lore, I mean as long as the character artstyle looks like they belong in darkest dungeon's artstyle that's good enough for me.
