+14/+16 more after the Darkest Dungeon has been completely cleared out (assuming that you have no surprise casualties). The Heroes that win through a Darkest Dungeon mission do not count as part of your roster limit any longer. Whether the two that invariably die in the climax (barring extremely particularly party setups and a fair bit of luck) also count if they are revived by that super-rare town event or not...I don't actually know.

They don't: I sacrificed a Butcher Bird the last time I fought the final boss and, when I got 'From Beyond' a couple of Weeks later, she didn't count.

Good to know. Not surprised, honestly, if you died in the Darkest Dungeon, you shouldn't really get the buff for having beaten that level.
