it is incredibly easy to play this game with M&K but if you want to use a controller, go ahead

Why do people keep making coments like this lol? How is it helpful?

Say I am sitting on my couch with my PC in the office, connected via a Steam Link to my TV. Please explain how "incredibly easy" it is to use a M&K in this setup?

Obviously I can go into the office to use the M&K but that's besides the point. I've invested in a setup that lets me play PC games on my TV. I don't expect to play Dota on my TV, but if a game has been designed for controller but the buttons are shown all wrong (including a blue "X" which is literally still a button but in the wrong place)... it just seems like you're 99% of the way there and just missing a bit of polish.

Yeah, I decided to try out the controller for this for the first time, since mouse isn't that great for most of the dungeon, and keyboard isn't comfortable to use in my setup, and I was really put off by it using playstation inputs....especially since playstation controllers aren't supported natively by windows!

So this problem is still not fixed ?!
I am not playing the game unless Xbox controller is fully supported, with proper prompts/layout.

I bought this game on the Switch initially, but found the controls for a controller awful. The support just felt like a mouse UI with gamepad controls lazily injected in with little thought. It resulted in me buying the game again on PC instead.

I love controllers and it is my preference for most games, but games like this play much better with keyboard and mouse.

If you're really determined to do such a thing just install something to map controller input to keys and design your own.

Someone may have even posted recommendations on this board at some point, although I can't find it now. Maybe also check the reddit. Or ask on the Discord. I'm sure someone has done this at some point.
