Getting OPENGL error, cant launch game. How to update opengl?
As title says, and yes i did check the master list of dd fixes and spent a good hour doing some of the suggestions there.

My pc is a desktop, not a laptop, so already most of the fixes around opengl in that thread don't seem to apply to me. Likewise i have updated latest drivers through geforce (have a nvidia card), but it seems it doesn't update opengl even though thread says it should (for reference, my version of opengl is still 1.1). Looking around for manual opengl patches to a nvidia geforce card gave me mixed results, the only things i found were experimental files with which to use opengl 4.2 and even on that page they say it's intended for developpers and consumers should instead update opengl through nvidia geforce (which i already did and it doesn't update opengl it seems).

At this point my patience wears thin and ready to throw the towel and ask for a refund, but on the off chance there's an easy solution someone can provide that i've overlooked, decided to make a post first. So yeah if anyone can help me out, would be appreciated, cheers.

Mkay been less then 24 hours but considering how last post in main thread of dds fixes is over 2 weeks old and last questions never got answered by anyone, i'm gonna assume finding tech support in this forum is a lost cause.

You still haven't provided your pc specs.
IIRC Darkest Dungeon requires at least opengl 3.2 and if your gpu doesn't support it then you won't get much help.

Here.

And yup, DD requires 3.2 opengl and mine is 1.1 yet nvidia geforce doesn't update it (even though thread of dd fixes says it does) and nor did i find a way to "manually" patch opengl.

As for gpu not supporting game, I was playing DD just fine a few months ago so wtf if that's the case, i've had this game almost since launch!

You are looking for help in wrong forum though. Your issue is not related to darkest dungeon. I would recommend you to do a clean install of your drivers (gpu, chipset).

There's an entire section about this problem in the DD master thread. Likewise there's quite a few threads about exactly this topic.
Plenty of people have reported having this problem, and some of them even got it fixed.
Devs have also frequently responded to these posts in the past, in fact go check dd master fix thread and you'll find the first dev response in that is in response to EXACTLY the same problem i'm having now.

Not a single one of them has been told "wrong forum, go somewhere else", so unless I'm a special snowflake then i am in the right place.

Update your driver for your graphics card. I know that you have said that you have already, but your card supports up to OpenGL 4.4 on the latest drivers. Since you say that you are running the latest drivers, roll back a version, and try to update once again.

Thanks, will try that!

Edit: That fixed the problem, cheers!
So in the end i can only assume something went wrong with geforce when upgrading drivers the first time.

That's why I suggested doing a clean install
