Am I stupid or this game is just pure frustration ?
After 180 hours of Darkest Dungeon... I find myself in a dead end. The game is just telling "♥♥♥♥ you". I don't think I m a perfect strategist but when I plan my runs, and get wiped by RNG ... well, I find it boring and frustrating.

After hours of levelling up, it takes the game only 5 minutes to wipe your full party.
And then you're back in a silly cycle of levelling up ... doing the same quest over again to level up your characters.

End game isn't challenging. its just stupid !
I can't even kill the last bosses. The combat just start the same : you manage damage well, and then RNG hits the fan... and all your efforts are torn to pieces.

So good bye Darkest Dungeon youre not fun anymore

So the stuff im saying shouldn´t be new to you but anyway. The game isn´t about the one partycomp that can´t be killed and is working well in every dungeon. The only thing you can do is minimizing the risk to die in this crazy rng moments you described when the enemy tripple crit your jester and put dots on him for example. You can counter the 200 stress limit with one of the three stresshealing clases. You can gather multiple sources of heal in your party one dedicated healer( vestel, occultist) and guys like a flagellante, arbelist, houndmaster. You can use guard skills from the houndmaster and the man at arms when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan. But i can understand that the game can be frustrating from time to time. If you want to improve your theory crafting and preperation game i would recomend this guy: https://www.youtube.com/user/FilthyRobotChannel

There are many ways to make this game easier. For example always use 2 strong healers in a party on difficult missions. That lowers the chances dying to rng significally. Also use right builds, lock right traits to each of your characters in a group and make them work in synergy. Dont be afraid to retreat (not in DD dungeon obviously) to save important heroes if rng turns against you. Use town events to your advantage. For example i`ve waited for a town event that raise Virtue Chance for 15 perc, equiped my party with trinkets that boost virtue chances and entered DD dungeon on that week. Then on a mission i raised my stress levels to 100 on purpose and thanks to event\trinket virtue boost 4 of my heroes was buffed with virtue - obviously that helped a lot in clearing dungeon. Also there are quite a few party compilations that totally op even with unfair rng. Find and use that which works best for you. And finally if u feel totally frustrated - there is a way to make this game actually "saveable".Find a game save location, make a backup of it and use as a checkpoint, reuploading it if ur party got totally destroyed for example. There is no need to get frustrated - just find a way so the game will work for u.

Do you know the definition of madness?
Repeating the same strategy and expecting different results.

One doesnt simply wipe a party, you're supposed to run away as soon as anyone is in serious danger of dying.

A good party can deal with the worst RNG.

Well said... and I figured it after 15 hours. I love hard games, like Dark Souls, that offers a fair challenge, but this game isnt hard, its just frustrating and stupidly designed. Easy dungeons are too easy, champion dungeons are unbeatable and you lost all your best heroes and money in 5 minutes and you can not do anything about it, just watching that slaughter... enemies that you killing like nothing are now killing you like nothing. And I dont talking about repetitiveness of this game... its no fun going through similar dungeons with similar enemies and dying similar ways. Ill try to refund it, cause I know now I wont play this game anymore, dont want to waste my time with it. Devs know very well, why they dont release a demo or atleast dont put this game on free weekend...

There are multiple no-death runs (slightly spoilery) documented on the forums...so, to be rude, yes you're stupid.

Here's your problem: rather than asking specific questions, you've thrown out generalizations, then given up. If you want to become better, you can. Tell us what went wrong and how you usually approach the battle where it went wrong, and we can tell you how to not make it go wrong in the future.

Alternatively, you prefer complaining to getting better. Or DD just isn't your type of game but for some reason you need an excuse to stop playing. In either case, good work, carry on.

This game can be "mastered", if you fully understand its mechanics.

You basically have to realize that you have to work to prevent the enemy's turn. Either by killing, or by stunning him.

You should always do a party with one of each role. One healer, one DMG dealer, one stress healer and one stunner.

Always stun the front row and focus damage on the back row. Then keep two enemies alive at loe health and cheese the heals, that eay you arr never in real danger and you will almost never lose a hero.

Also, damage always has priority over healing. Unless you are on Deaths door or on healing cheese phase.

Also, debuffs and marks arr situational and should be ignored most times.

STUN is the most powerful mechanic you have. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abuse it.

And dont do AOE unless is to kill an almost dead enemy. Always focus damage.

Then you may be doing something wrong because champion dungeons ARE beatable.

I came back to playing after a long hiatus and I've noticed many minor tweaks to the game to make it more difficult. Many of the more useful skills have been nerfed.

BH and HM definitely seem to get their stuns resisted more often.

Or was that just because I played on Stygian this time?

For example? In fact there is not a single skill which has been nerfed since january 2016 except hound harry which was never really useful.
