-Make sure to buff every hero's bleed resist and use holy water on top of that. Bring bandages as well.
-Bring a lot of healers, two vestals in the back and a flagellant up front makes you practically unkillable.
-Buff prot if you can. Perhaps bring one or two man at arms to block for the healers.
Hmm, yeah, I don't have the garlic as of yet, so maybe I should wait until I have at least one of those; the stockpiling of holy water, bandages, etc was already on my list, though I intended ot double check the wiki for whether it did blight & bleed, or just one of either. I think I may go with either a tough & hard skinned jester for the 4th hero, or perhaps an Antiquarian constantly guarded by the Flagellant, though buffing dodge may be the better option, I dunno.
@ warchild - I have considered the benefits of an all riposte team before, but I don't think it works well for this instance. I'd almost certainly want the Hwyman's CC set for each and every one if I was to try it, :P
A riposte-heavy team would be great for a boss with a lot of turns, but since you're opting for pure survival, it will do literally nothing to help you. I strongly recommend heals above all else.
Those 2 are pretty much mandatoy to minimize rng/shorten the duration of battle the other 2 slots are dictated by what u wish to focus on dps/defence...
Thanks Rosy! Have to admit, as with anything, player fatigue came close to bringing me down a little later when I went on a Long Cove Expedition and made it a dark run. Had finally found a quality Abomination in the apprentice ranks - 1st level with 'Hard Skinned' AND 'Natural Swing'! Set him up with a Jester, Occultist, and Shield Breaker, only to abandon the quest halfway in. Having fought a shambler and survived to get the Ancestor's Candle, I decided that - with no more campfires and the lowest stress at 140 - "Discretion was the better part of valor." :( Still, got the haul I wanted. :P
Just keep spamming those dodge-buff skills untill the gaint bird get bored.
