Since you'd equip them in the trinket slots (as they're the only equippable slots) then they'd still be trinkets.
See: Ancestor's Pistol, Legendary Bracer, all the various Cloaks, and the Man-at-Arms' shields...
I yearn for that feeling I used to get from the early days of wow, finding new weapons and armor was such a thrill :)
Customisation of the look of your adventurer would add that little more depth and attachment to certain characters I believe :)
I am not trying to knock DD, I love the game to bits, the art style is just my gig, the atmosphere is repressive and sound is lovely. Just musing on what maybe could come in a second game :)
