Crusader CC trinket set : Worth it ?
I just got the 2nd piece tonight on a random drop and I now have a Crusader with 80 HP, 15% Prot as a baseline. If you use Bulwark of Faith, you basically get a huge meat shield that can heal well and take a beating for a long time during a boss fight.

The lack of offensive stats does bother me though, like ACC. Is the set worth it in some situations ?

The lack of ACC is hugely disappointing and a no-go for me, after trying it on just on Champion run where the Crusader missed sooooo often. If just using him for Bulwark, maybe the set is good, but it sucks if he's a secondary stunner, etc. that needs ACC.

I liked the set quite a bit, personally. No trinket set is perfect, nor is any combination of trinkets that we have, as there's always going to be something missing: dodge, accuracy, protection, resistances, skill chance, the list is huge. The loss you actually pay for this set is 2 speed: that is a gimme. There's a few other sets (Grave Robber) trhat ask too much for the benefit. Better to pair the best of the two with something else or in some cases (Leper) just add them to your Trinket Box for posterity and otherwise ignore them. The way to deal with what's missing on an otherwise good pair of trinkets is make up for that with party composition and/or quirks. For me, Crusaders now are just better served with Natural Swing, Hard Skinned, and the Eldritch Hater / Slayerline of quirks, or Unyielding. Attaching them with a Man at Arms also makes sense (and always did, actually (why Barristan was a man-at-arms and not a Crusader I'll never know)).

I loved both Leper's and Crusader's sets. You get extreme hp buff and some secondary stuff to help them survive even better. This line will not break. It shapes the way the class performs, and isn't the only way, but is a very welcome addition (if for no other reason than to see REAL healing of the Flagellant critting on Leper with Tough). Most of the sets are junk (GR, Jester, Hellion), highly situational (BH, PD, HM, Flagellant), or items are okay but don't play well together (Abomination, Vestal).

I actually really liked the Hound Masters set, as it gives them a lot of bonus damage and accuracy vs. targets, and scout chance is always appreciated. Also thought pretty highly of the Hellion's, though I honestly do distrust damage scaling to lower health: it works for me when it's a class feature, but I distrust it on trinkets.

The thing about Houndmaster is, pretty few high-priority targets live for more than 2 rounds. And during those two rounds, unless someone moves first and bleeds the enemy for him, he does less damage than with flat 15% item and explores worse than with Ancestor's map.

This is what I meant by situational. Good if: there's a super-fast bleeder (Flagellant/Jester), or there isn't anything better (safe play without early shamblers, for example), or you get lucky and drop complete set from first 2 CC zones. Lategame it's generally outclassed.

I used the Hellion set quite a bit. Bleed chance, speed, damage, death's door resistance, accuracy, dodge. It worked really great the way I played. In the courtyard I frequently would be taking some hefty hits and getting some damage from the warpaint, and all the other stats were much appreciated.

But ones like the Jester, Graverobber, or Crusader, just... ugh.
