How to Start Radiant Mode? [Vita]

I'm not really sure where else to ask this but I've recently bought Darkest Dungeon for the Vita and I have no idea how to start Radiant mode. When creating a new hamlet I have no difficulty selection it just starts.

I bought and downloaded it on the vita about a week ago so I believe it's the newest version available. When I create a new hamlet however it asks for a name then once I give it on I can select the hamlet to play but there appears to be no difficulty selection it just loads in. I've tried playing around in the menu and the only game setting options I have are Audio, Graphics and Gameplay but the Gameplay options are just 2 options for how long character text is shown.

It says 1.00 once I finally figured out how to check now I have no idea what to do I had always assumed the vita auto updated games like PS3

Edit: there appears to be a 400mb update thanks for helping me solve my own stupidity
