Most lucrative missions: Short, Medium, or Long?
What's the most efficient way to farm cash and items? Thanks in advance!

You get msot from long mission, particularly if you get antiquarian.

Thing is you will not be ever able take everything. to home cus limited inventory, so even medium mission is more than satisfying.

(Though since some point there is not much reason to go other than long champion for ancestral trinket and about 150 heirlooms)

Anyway the game is bit grindy, no shame farm apprentice short missions until you are comfortable move on.

I love the grind; and I did play a ton during beta, so I remember that part ;) But I am not sure about anything past mid-beta, since that's when I stopped playing.

Medium MIssions with an Antiquarian seems to be the sweet spot for me. Can fill your inventory normally. Antiquarian will also get you bonus items if you search curios with them, and they make your gold stack differently so you can take more gold in one stack.

Short Antiquarian runs are good depending how bad you need gold and less risky if your not able to have a really strong comp around the Antiquarian. Medium and Long runs are great when your sure you can handle the stress and damage those runs deal out with an Antiquarian in your party but even without one they can be decent gold runs.

Short: Ideal if you have an Antiquarian. Without one, these aren't as profitable as a medium. The issue is that the quest will end before you fill up your inventory. You want to leave with as much loot as possible.
Medium: Generally the best.
Long: Only worth it for trinkets on the reward. Once you get all ancestrals, you may as well not go to these anymore. Or you could just pick the ones that you want, and dump the rest.

Long with houndmaster and antiquarian. If you diddnt know, every time that an antiquarian uses a curio that grants items, she adds an antique worth 500 or 1000. These stack to 20 and are also dropped every battle, so you come out with 25kish eaisly without finding a treasure room and with no stress. This is on top of making gold stack to 2500, which also makes gold stacks much more valuable to prioritse over cheap trinkets or low grade jewels.

I think mediums are the best one. While theoratically you can get more stuff from long expeditions, you do have to leave the hamlet with more provisions. You have two camping logs that take up space and the extra food to survive the long trip. With medium expeditions you can finish the mission faster while also filling the whole inventory with no problem.

I would only go long for the mission reward or if you are gaming the bank to get free gold later. If you take an anti into a long mission you can choose to drop all bests, crests ect in favor of gold and get a great gold total out of it. Just make sure you have a strong team to complement the anti.

Long missions. Easy gold.

It also helps if you bring a jester so you don't have to waste gold on the tavern or abbey when you're done. It doubly helps to do the 'collect medicine' quests, as those allow you to use the sanitarium for free!

I did not know that; thanks. I did notice that I had these events twice recently, but I didn't realize they may be connected to that particular quest!

I had no clue. I've only ran the Antiquarian in one mission, and she didn't interact with a curio. Now I shall try this - thanks!

As side note - once you build bank and gather some basic gold (about 200k gold+.. it is nto so much as you can get 25k+ with antiquarian and scouting easily even in apprentice medium) you can pretty much start ignore gold collection at all as interest from bank pay easily for all provisions and there is still gold reward for finish the mission.. it make things way more easier and managable.

Medium. Antiquarian is a plus but not required. Use the firewood to reduce stress before exiting if possible (or necessary). Concrete example with simple party no antiquarian on medium run. I had no more space left but no gold either to replace those pety provision items I was left.

I tend to do a lot of short mission until I get a full roster of level 2, and then I go medium or long.

Short dungeons rewards less loot, but also less XP and that's the important part for me. I find the game more manageable when everyone is at the same level ^^

So far, I'm at week 65, and all hereos are level 5-6, max armor/weapon and skills, normal mode (vanilla), 570.000 gold, killed 9 bosses, been in the Courtyard, and no one died so far.

So depsite all those short runs at the start, I've been able to progress fast enough!
