Removing PROT
So, it's been a couple months since I last played and I started a new campaign for Crimson Court. I'm just wondering, is there no way to reduce protection on tanky monsters now? Since it seems like none of the mark abilities effect it anymore.

Houndmaster and Bounty Hunter's marks reduce enemy protection. Leper has an attack which reduces enemy protection. DoTs completely bypass protection and are generally a better answer than reducing protection.

Against almost all the enemies you'll fight in the early game outside the Cove raw damage is almost always more efficient than DoTs. High-PROT enemies are the main source (along with enemies that just have too much health to be taken down quickly) of enemies where DoTs of Blight or Bleed are far more efficient at killing them since they bypass their PROT completely.

Yeah, I was mainly asking in regards to Ghouls, since I'd prefer to be able to take them out quickly before they can stack too much stress, instead of waiting for DoT to finish them. Though I guess it was only a few marks, like the Occultist's, that lost the PROT reduction.

The Occultist's mark has always reduced the dodge. Only Houndmaster and BH has a prot debuff with their mark.
