Why people tend to sexualize this game so much?

I've been looking for mods on nexus for quite a while, been digging through fanart, and i keep seeing it.
Hell, there's even a mod on Nexus that turns camping into a Sexy Time for crying out loud.
I am not against such thing, don't get me wrong.
I just can't understand while people even have such things flowing through their minds while playing this.
This game's setting is just not suited for this. It's all about pain and suffering, madness and torment, and overall eldritch abomination shenanigans. It just doesn't work in my eyes.
I can understand many things, but i can not understand THIS.
I just want to know, why and how.

Yeah «sexy» mods are an immersion breaker for this game, wich is all about dark, unsettling atmosphere but well, to each their own, whatever flies their flag i guess.

At the same time, I can understand that like, it's over done (sexy mods, that is), like people have no self-control or something. I mean, that's why we have r34. But like I said, whatever, no biggie.

I was also going to say that. Back in the old times when people (especially the roots class) do not have many access to a variety of entertainment like we do to day, what will they do after a day of hard work? I think this is a major approach for them to relax.
