Beating the Gibbering Prophet (The Hard Way)
*Sorry in advance for the sound quality on this one. I forgot to plug in my mic so it used my built in one (I know it's terrible). Don't go back and watch my old Star Sector videos.

I planned poorly for this boss.

I brought:
VES-HWM-CR-JES

I know, I know, most of those guys can't hit the 4th rank. I had to beat the prophet the hard way by slogging through the pews.

What are your favorite party setups, skills, and trinkets for this boss? I probably should have brought an occultist to run DMG debuff, and an Arbalest right?

yeah weakeninhg curse makes him mostly harmless, and at that point you might as well take Arb for mark synergy and clearing stun, or PD to cure blight.

Most of my guys we're stressed out from losing champion runs so I ended up with this band of misfits. The RNGesus just decided to give me this one.

On my final fight with the Prophet I brought an Occultist, PD, GR, and Antiquarian. With stun chance, blight chance, debuff chance, and some speed trinkets. Went full ham with throwing knife/blight damage plus constant debuff.

Didn't lose anyone. Was proud of my Antiquarian and PD especially for the way they battled.

How did you survive that with an Antiquarian? Well done indeed.

I used her Festering Vapors mostly which could attack from any position at anywhere, sometimes stab, used Protect me if she was in danger, debuffed enemies/healed using my occultist, stunned/sliced/blighted with my PD, and used my GR for backward stun then lunge or knife throw. Reseted back to their default formation after every battle.

If she was moved to the back my Antiquarian could heal someone out of death's door, but she didn't need to. Also had that flower trinket for PD that increased slice damage and bleed chance I think.

Honestly I was suprised it worked so well even with all the battles I went through to reach the boss in the first place.

My favourite party for this is full guard full riposte, HWM-VES-ATQ-MAA, mainly because it can. I like to bring MAA regardless of party to goaltend against the falling rocks.

Due to the prophet's love of AOE, the ripostes go off all the time. So, ATQ and MAA guard, HWM ripostes and pistols, MAA alternates with riposte, VES frantically tries to heal (and it works, barely). Technically I guess the HWM guards via the ATQ.

Your chiptuney intro is really growing on me.

Yeah come to think, since you have stress issues, you should bring jesters a lot.

The front pews have fewer HP. No reason to ever kill the back pew except for loot.

Remember 90% accuracy is a lie, and is actually 100%.

I name all my favourite heroes after boss monsters from dragon quest 4. When I run out of those I branch out into final fantasy or other examples of [that one boss].

I've found something like Ves/Occ/GR/Hel works pretty well on him. GR/Hel can directly target back row. Occultist can debuff him constantly. Vestal can heal up. Bringing an Occultist tends to get me into some trouble with him, because you still take a lot of damage from the first couple of rubble attacks while you're debuffing, and if you switch to heals, then you end up taking more damage. Hence the Vestal/Occ combo. The GR can be swapped out for any decent ranged attacker.

I 100% agree about taking an occultist. I got very lucky on this one.
