Is Wolves at the Door really difficult?
I got to face the event in the title.

I must admit I was a bit worried about it, so I checked online for suggestions, and turns out you "need" a Man at Arms. Which, by coincidence, was currently recovering from 100 stress and an affliction.

So no Man at Arms.

So I decided to go for the easy route (and in the mean time get an achievement, too), and I sent in 4 cannon fodder freshly picked from the idontrememberthenameofthatthing; a Houndmaster, an Occultist, and two Abominion.

They slain easily the first two rooms of enemies. And due to the abominions and the houndmaster having gained an affliction at half of the first encounter, they have attacked the enemies on average only every other turn.

Not only that, but due to a couple of cure from the Occultist and a few dodge, they managed to finish the first encounter...basically at full health :-D

Then I got bored and withdraw from the mission, but ok. Am I missing something? Wasn't it supposed to be really difficult? :-D

First encounters are lvl 1-3 enemies only, true fun starts later.

Well, the first two encounters are basically lvl 1 enemies, they get harder towards the boss and without a MAA you really would have had a hard time fighting him even with fully equipped Legend Heros.

He's a cheap SOB, hope you brought a bomb defusal kit...

Ah...ok, it make much more sense now, thx!

Side question: I've read everywhere about the Man at Arms and the Defend skill and ok, it's a nice PROT bump...but it remove just another character from damage. Add to that the Man at Arms himself and ok, you have two characters safe, but what about the other two?

I don't think I've used much the Defend skill...am I wrong?

As I said, I got bored and aborted the quest. I was there to have the party slain, not for trying to win, they weren't supposed to survive the first battle. Heck, they weren't even supposed to survive more than 30 seconds, it was totally unnecessary and unrequested.
Brigand Vvulf, one of the most notoriously hard boss... that i don't have much of an issue with.

And surprisingly, i didn't bring a Man At Arms. My party Consisted of:

Vestal - Houndmaster - Bounty Hunter - Hellion.

Vvulf himself wasn't hard, but he's very cheap. Some of my characters didn't even reach deaths door, but i can see how Vvulf can be really tough.

Vvolf was not actually hard for me. He died easily to his own Guarding.

On the other hand, the enemies while trying to get to him started to really hurt towards the end, since one could not use camping to heal and destress.

Like a full all halways clear. If I remember correctly I had 3/4 ancestor trinkets from it. Makes up a lot of the delaying

Leper leper vestal plauguedocter. I got several afflictions but the lepers shredded most enemy's. I doubt it is a good comp tho. I just wanted to stall in the beginning
