Easy way to cheese DD1 (spoilers)
Take a Houndmaster/Abomination/Abomination/Abomination. On the first encounter with the pair of rapturous cultists, deliberately stress out your Abominations to test resolve. If they are virtuous, great. If they are afflicted, spam Absolution and Cry Havoc until their stress is 0 and do it again.

Do this until you have 4 virtuous heros and proceed to steamroll the rest of the dungeon.

You don't say! Works with other combos as well. Combining passing turns with retreats makes the whole procedure rather painless and quick when you use a Hero's Ring.

Funny enough, Stress was never a factor for me in the first Dungeon.
The second one, though, I do not look forwards to doing again any time soon. There I indeed did the very thing described above sans intentional Stressing, just getting rid of the ones that happened naturally was enough.
And I really dislike how it seems that Virtue chance has been capped quite low, which makes the +Virtue stuff almost worthless, at least in my opinion, since they can not be stacked to any relevant amounts.

Don't even need a virtue trinket, since all it does is save you time but once you are virtuous it's just dead weight at that point. Also, you really want to hope you get powerful, vigorous or focused. Stalwart is ok, but courageous is pointless since you can't get afflicted anyway at that point.

tch... casuals... the real best way to beat DD 1 is to look at the prompt that says "beware the SHUFFLING horror" and bring both arbelist and leper like an idiot (me), and still somehow manage to kill it through shear luck of having things put in places where they can do things.

nb4 pics or it didn't happen, that was a long time ago and I have since deleted that campaign.

I thought he was called the shuffling horror because he didn't know how to fully pick up his feet and left scuff marks all over the place.
