Because it amused me: Gem costs
It all started with how I never found Pews worth destroying, since what they're worth is underwhelming.
Then it bothered me that something would ever have value of 5050 Gold.
And then it annoyed me how Antiquarian Antiques simply copy costs of other things when there are costs not covered. And how damn good she is at lower difficulty Dungeons.
And lastly, the damn worthless Citrine. Why would anyone pick it up when the max stack has less worth than Gold?

So, to quell my obsessive annoyance, I altered the costs a bit:

Small Antique: 250 Gold, stacks to 20
(until said otherwise, the rest stack to 5)
Citrine: 375 Gold
Jade: 500 Gold
Onyx: 750 Gold
Emerald: 1000 Gold
Sapphire: 1250 Gold
Ruby: 1500 Gold
Large Antique: 2500 Gold, stacks to 3
Jute Tapestry: 3750 Gold, stacks to 2
Puzzling Trapezohedron: 5000 Gold, stacks to 1
Consecrated Pew: 7500 Gold, stacks to 1

The general rule being "is this 7500 Gold divisible with this cost?". Only avoided by Trapez and Emerald, but there there's symmetry with the value of Small Antique max stack value. As a bonus factor, all the max stack values cap at most at 7500 Gold.
I obviously shifted the Gem odds a bit lower, so that the increased average cost of Gems does not make the game easier economically than it ought.

I am unreasonably pleased with myself.
That is all, just a mildly amusing anecdote. Carry on.

Are you playing on easy mode or something?

Citrine isn't woth 375g, its 250g
Jade 375 and not 500
Onyx 500 as you said
Emerald is 750 and not 1000
Sapphire is 1000 and not 1250
Ruby is 1250 and not 1500
Minor antique is worth 500 and not 250
Rare Antique is 1250 and not 2500.

Also where in the hell did you get that Consecrated Pew to be worth 7500 / unit? Its 2500, its a total of 7500 yes but they come in 3 units.

Where the hell do you get your numbers from?

Did you even read my post? What the hell did you think the point of the post was? To post known costs of Gems again? :b

It was a modification I made to my personal mod.

Uhm, he changed the numbers himself, to reflect his esteemed jewelry assessement skills.

Assuming, of course, that Paranoia is a he.

He also states that here:

I think his decision makes sense, though I don't see the need to change the numbers myself.

And I still want to know why the Diary pages are worthless (except for roleplaying and lore value) pieces of inventory hamstringing.

He is.

I actually like the way they are, they limit the very early economy a bit so that things do not snowball too fast, but once one of each has been collected they stop spawning and taking up loot and inventory space. Which further encourages collecting all of them as fast as possible in order to get more loot faster. And one gets that completionist feel and some lore at the same time.
It is a neat little mechanic, if I ever create anything, I'll steal it. :b
