Edit: Well, the players that stay sane anyway learn this.
And losing your heroes or discarding them would be even more tragic...
That would work great with the graveyard.
Would be neat to track which heroes end up with the best record. Or to look back (whether its through the roster or the graveyard) and see who made that big kill. And if the hero is dead then to feel the nostalgia of (wow that hero was great!).
Would be fun.
And when he dies, he could be mentioned by his Accomplishments.
I concur that it wouldn't make it more arcade, but it definitely would cause grief to players. The more one plays this game, the more one must realize the heroes are tools, are meat, and treating them as friends will make the players themselves afflicted, or at least hate the game.
Friends? After hours and hours of playing I still don't know their names, they are just "you, you, you, and you: next mission" :-D
