Under Widescreen resolution
I have the same issue, both with COD & COD UO
Never thought of trying this, Imma try it out and let you guys know.
Ok, so I have a 2560x1440 resolution and having the same problems. Once changing the config file to the half of each value (1280x720) I indeed also have a full screen with everything visible. Textures are a bit vague though, but it's at least playable :)
Seems like the config file doesn't recognize numbers above 1 (with the 2560 figure)
+set r_mode -1 +set r_customwidth 1920 +set r_customheight 1080 +set cg_fov 95

============
To update video settings to 1080x1920 in Call of Duty:
The following utilizes console commands, access console by pressing the ~/tilde key on your keyboard while on the main menu in game.
/seta r_mode -1
/seta r_customheight 1080
/seta r_customwidth 1920
/vid_restart
Großartig. So sieht es wundervoll aus...
+seta r_mode "1920x1080" +seta r_fullscreen "1"
worked for me .
