I joined a server called 1.1x then it started to download a patcher but it failed. It also left a windows power shell installer (I didn't install due to antivirus flagging it)

Is this safe and genuine as I have just got back into cod.

I'm the main developer of the new 1.1x patch. It's still in an "open beta" phase, so sorry for the issues. We're working hard of improving the installer.

The patch is fully safe and tested by a lot of regular players.

You can also check the files on VirusTotal, they'll show no detections.

It would also be real nice if you could tell me which antivirus solution you use, so we check why it's reporting false positive.

I've tested quite a few antiviruses like Avast, AVG, Bitdefened, Malwarebytes, and all of them let the patch install fine.

That's great news people are still working on this classic. Cod 1 & 2 are my all time favourites.

As for antivirus, I use BitDefender and it deleted the installer file so can't even try to run it now.

Just extract in CoD folder.

The biggest feature is HTTP download like in CoD 1.5, so once the patch will be released, most servers will utilize this feature to give us new maps & more.
