Want to play multiplayer? Read this.

The Steam download of Call of Duty 1 comes with patch 1.5.
1.5 public multiplayer is dead for a while.

However, on patch 1.1/1.1x there's a lot of players and you'll always find a full server.

To downgrade, simply download http://dl.cod1x.eu/Downgrade.zip, extract in CoD folder and run "downgrade.bat".
You can easily check the files if you aren't trusting them.

Notice: If you have the United Offensive expansion pack, downgrading will break it. I suggest you just make a separate folder for it.

VCoD is vanilla call of duty. Without the uo expansion pack.

How do you enter the cd key

The CD key must be entered in "Multiplayer options > Enter CD Key" (key in "codkey" file in the package)

Ok so I extracted the files into the Call Of Duty 1 folder but I keep getting a "Fatal Error" message saying "user interface is version 9, expected 7" everytime I try to open the game. How do I fix this if anyone knows please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

when i follow all steps and go to enter my cd key the game freezes and crashes. any ideas?

You can enter the key in codkey file in Main folder, open it with notepad.
