A side scrolling shooter with a good amount of polish and thought especially the boss levels which offer interesting challenges. The levels tend to require planning and a few attempts to do well but they are short so it isn't painful to restart. Additionally the movement of the ship is a bit sluggish by design which may be frustrating for people used to more fast paced combat.

Limited energy for guns, levels that play like puzzles. Bosses that require some head scratching on what gun combos to have. Routes that have to be punched open or die. For fans of Jet's'n Guns there are similarities that levels are more or less big explosion fests and there are secrets and puzzles to solve. Many runs end in a 'what was that all about' puzzlement when you encounter something you dont expect at all. But it's really nice too when you figure out what the catch was.

Aggravating for some, for me this is a sign of a most decent shooter game. A good buy even today despite age.

One of the most polished shmup on steam, and it has mixed rewievs?
There were no crash for me, no bugs so far.

Gameplay is smooth, the controls are great, the level design and the backgrounds are spectatular, very good looking cyberpunk cities, i would say, this game has one of the most calm and unique environment of the genre. I like it.

Upgrade system could be a little more clean, its hard to see, what equipment will be replaced with an other, and what will be added as a plus. I played through more than half of the game, but that shop system sill not clear to me.

I love that the game is not just shooting, but puzzle solving at the same time, even the bosses are tricky sometimes.

I'am sad, that the shmup genre are ruled by very bad looking - eastern style pattern finder bullett hells with anime girls everywhere, and games like Humans Must Answer are considered "eurotrash" becouse of upgrades, more "thinky" gameplay with puzzles, and beautiful graphics.

U made a great game devs, its not ur fault, the market is dominated by eastern standards... and shmup genre is forgotten anyway.

i'm surprised we have such a polished space arcade shooter for PC. Highly recommended to play with a controller.

This needs more good reviews, so i decided to actually write one for a change.

This game was clearly inspired by 16-bit horizontal shooters such as R-Type, Project-X and X-Out but adds more of a challenge due to having a limited ammo supply and having to use a specific (Energy / Matter) ammo on certain enemies to deal with them effectively.

I played the game a bit during the early early early days, and it was certainly one I was truly looking forward to.

Firstly? The graphics are pretty, the gameplay fast and smooth, and the music?
The soundtrack -is- this game, it's energetic, fastpaced and totally awesome (to my ears)

Still? I honestly don't enjoy playing the game, I found the difficulty not at all to my liking....perhaps I've gotten to old to these sidescrolling shoot'em'ups (just past 30!) , I got fed up after playing the first two levels.
Though I personally don't enjoy the game all that much (totally downloaded the soundtdrack however), I can definatly recommend it to fans of the genre.

Great game remineds me of Nemesis 2 on MSX

This game reminds me of Jets n Guns! include UPGRADE SYSTEMS which is a must for Shump. I've read some bad review comment about this game which is COMPLICATED?? CONFUSING?? , i dont see anything so confusing or complicated. If you want simple NO BRAIN or PLAIN Shump with only shoot to kill using 1-2 button with just pick up upgrades in space, then this game is not for you. Just play a simple game like Raiden etc. For me that kind of simple game is just waste of money which you can complete in short time.

- Ability to shoot using difference way and weapon combination
- Some mission require some weapon skill (just like Megaman X)
- Close to reality (the ammo or energy is not infinity)
- Not a plain boring simple Shmup with simple pick up upgrades or just shoot to kill.
- Great graphic, music and gameplay

CONS
- no SPEED/BOOST upgrade found yet since the ship move quite slow
(basically the upgrades is not better than Jets n Guns)
- quite slow Shmup
- Not easy to earn money for upgrades


RECOMMENDED FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS.

This game is great! It reminds me of games such as R-Type , Einhander and the unforgetable Thunder Force 3. Great graphics, awesome soundtrack. A truly great shoot em up that should not be missed. Highly recommended if you love old style games with superb new graphics.
