Mi opinion sobre Jack el Guapo. My opinion about Handsome Jack. SPOILER ALERT. Spanish and English :)
SPOILER ALERT!!! Spanish and English :)

Hey guys, I just want tell you my opinion of this great character ^^)

I never played Borderlands 1, so when I played directly Borderlands 2, seeing an enemy called Handsome Jack, I thinked "whoa, this game is full of comedy and the bad guy is just a dumb" then I realized I was wrong, I really hated Jack, specially after he murdered Bloodwing, and I enjoyed putting a bullet between the eyes.

Now, after finish the main story of The Pre-Sequel, they completely changed my opinion, Jack, is truly a hero, in the beginning the Legion wanted to kill him, why? It is not clear, and they wanted to destroy the moon too, the home of thousands of people. Jack prevent this, shuting down the lazer, of course he said "better have it controlled, and with this kill the bandits, without allies dead" and here he was betrayed by Moxxi, Roland and Lilith, they tryed to kill him too, just by suppositions, because "they see something bad on Jack"

Jack is ambitious, he continued the search of the camera to get the alien power in there, and when he found it, he learned the existence of The Warrior, and other cameras... but ... ¿what so far he would get knowing this ?, by his ambition, far enough, but I don't think, his methods will be so cruel as shown in Borderlands 2.

Here comes the kick of Lilith, destroying the alien object, and burning Jack's face. This was the straw that broke the camel, giving Jack what he need to be insane, the revenge. He swore revenge on them, all the bandits, and with the power of the Warrior, destroy Pandora to please himself.

So my opinion, the real enemies are Roland and Lilith. they went against the hero who saved the moon, Jack was not bad, they transformed him into a monster.

Agreed, ♥♥♥♥ Lilith.
I always hated Lilith, too smug, but really... ♥♥♥♥ you, Lilith.

Here are the reasonings, as you say why they wanted Jack dead was unclear, but it's quite obvious:

With the help of the Eridian, Zarpedon finds the vault, and gets the knowledge within it.
Zarpdeon realizes that if left unchecked, anyone with any greed (Everyone on Pandora and within a few light-years) would abuse the power, as they couldn't handle it. All hell would break loose, complete insanity. Limitless lives lost.
...ooooorrr just destroy it.
You see, Jack runs Helios. Lead programmer, he's who Tassiter asks for updates, etc. etc. Basically, he leads the giant space station. So, how do you take over a ship? Find the captain, shoot em' in the face. With a gun. Massive laser cannons, in Zarpdeon's case.

in the beginning the Legion wanted to kill him, why?
------
That one's easy, Eridian Guardians. We know there's a specfic one (named ?????????????) that has been seen on both Pandora and the moon, signify mobitlitying and a knowledge of multiple vaults. We also know that Jack manipulated the events of borderlands 1, getting the original vault hunters to open the vault, kill the bio-weapon inside and then take it's eye to turn it into a big ass super weapon capable of destroying large areas. He then hired 6 people to go to Elpsis and get to another vault. Zarpedon, who has now joined ??????????? and the eridan guardians. It only makes sense for them to go after Jack, who already has and continues to unleash the incredibly powerful bioweapons that they locked away.

"they see something bad on Jack"
-------------

Yes they do. He broke up with Moxxi because he thought she cheated on him. Then he burned her entire underdome to the ground. That's pretty damn crazy. Here's a full list of crazy things they've seen Jack do before they ever try to kill him.

1. Burn down the underdome because he thought Moxxi cheated on him

2. Build a giant death cannon capable of destroying an entire moon

3. Wipe a sentient AI because he thought she might not co-operate with his plans

4. All the slag expermintation going on in research and development

5. Vent all the sceintests merely because one said it was possible that their could be a traitor (after the true traitor: The Meriff has already been killed).

So they know Jack is man who, at the point the try to kill him, has already flipped out and destroyed things simply because he thinks there may be a chance they're not going to follow his exact plans. This man is armed with a super cannon, a wide-variety of loaders with a machine and an AI capable of created them in large amounts (all of which are created before they ever try to kill him), a way to shoot them to Pandora at high speed, a cloaking device and is actively pursuing more vaults that they know contain biological super weapons. He is quite literally a mentally unstable person with an armada worth of weapons in his direct control.

I don't think, his methods will be so cruel as shown in Borderlands 2
--------

Eventually the would of been with or without everything that happened in TPS and there's only one perosn who is truly responsible for turning Jack into a monster: His Grandmother. When we go to "save" her from bandits in borderlands 2 we see a buzzaxe on the bed with the notation that it was a disciplanary weapon, singfying an abusive relationship as a child. This coupled with whatever happened to his wife (he says it's because of angel, but at the point he talks about it he is already full blown nutters. Given his "bandit" obsession and the fact that he hides his daugter away "for her own protection" and then couple it with Maya's backstory of being used for her powers, it's entirely possible than someone tried to take Angel for her abilities and his wife died as a result) it puts him in a postion to already be on the path of a psychopath.

While Lillith did turn his focus on the vault hunters and sped up the process, he was already well on his way to becoming Handsome Jack and eventually would have gone after anyone who didn't do what he wanted, when he he wanted them to. He already had a habit of snapping and killing people he didn't trust, whether he had any sort of proof or not. He already had enough psycholgical baggage to create a serial killer and he was already starting to enjoy (and he comments on it) every single kill he convinced himself was neccesary.

What Moxxi,Lillith, and Roland did was stupid, reckless, and ultimatly turned Jack's eyes upon them, but they are in no way responsible for Jack's menatl instability. That responsiblity ultimatly falls upon his abusive grandmother with a little help from the unknown situation that led to his wife's death.
