problem with alt tabbing out of game making cursor disappear?!?!
hi, i hope this is the right place to mention this to the developers but i have a problem.

when i alt tab out of borderlands I lose my cursor and it disappears... I was just on the shift codes machine i had got and claimed anoter 25 or so keys making my total 40 (originally i had 15).
I was using the steam overlay browser for this so no problems.. but then when i went to go into overlay I accidently alt tabbed instead of shift tabbed (must just be drilled into my muscle memory) and when I alt tabbed back in I had lost my cursor... but i had already claimed the keys...

not i assumed the keys were stored on the cloud seen as we have to verify shiftcodes using some form of connection over the internet so i just guessed they were all saved other than on my save game. but i was wrong. i quit out by closing application because without a cursor i have no choice cz i cant see what the hell im doing. but this meant I lost all the keys i had just claimed. this is kinda annoying seen as i cant reclaim them because i have had my allocation. so im pretty much left down now because of an error that is frustrating.. im not asking for keys I just want this to be fixed because its starting to really put me off gameplay as it happens alot because i alt tab out alot to do things. especially if im waiting for a friend to come join me while they are getting settled at their desk etc. please... see what you can do Devs ....

and thank you for bring us an awesome game! :-D

I alt-tab out lots and i've not had this error.

Have you tried looking in the options for (something like) loss of focus.

The shift stuff is stored localy but verified externally. Your PROFILE.BIN is where your shift stuff/BAR/heads and skins and your shared stash is saved. This file is saved whenever you place/remote something from the stash or when you exit the game.

I wouldn't worry too much about the shift codes, there's gonna be loads coming up. :vault:

wait, was this about shift codes or a cursor?

I think the cursor issue leading into the other... though they are seperate.

on the cursor end, I run my game Windowed so prevent alt+tab issues. Historically any full screen game that is alt+tabbed too often tends to get horribly unstable and crash. Borderlands is no exception to it.

If you alt tab a lot, I suggest running windowed as that'll almost entirely negae such issues

I use borderless window option. It looks fullscreen but acts like a window. No longer even need to alt-tab as tapping the windows key will make the start bar visable and take the game out of focus.
