Save file transfer help?

Hi,

I've been stuck for ages with this and I have yet to receive a response from steam support.

I have a retail copy of the game and I now have a steam copy of the game as well, is there any way I can use my retail copy save data with the steam copy?

Yup, just copy your save game from one to the other.

Yes, go in the saves folder of your retail and paste all save files in the saves folder of your steam version
Saves are usually like save#### (4 digits)
The path for the saves folder in the steam copy is C:\My Documents\My Games/Borderlands TPS (saves folder is composed of a large number of digits)

I've done my characters still aren't appearing in my steam game :/

If you are using the steam cloud, try to synchronise your game with it
If it asks "download or upload", upload your local data to the steam cloud

Be careful, your copied files must be at the right format (save####) and you can't have 2 files with the same name

My save data is under:
SaveData > 76561197960270647 >
profile.bin
Save0001.sav
Save0001.sav.bak
Save0002.sav
Save0002.sav.bak

then my borderlands pre-sequel data is under steamapps, should should I put the whole SaveData folder into the (Borderlands Pre-Sequel) or (Willowgame) which is inside the pre-sequel folder.

I am so sorry I'm getting a bit lost :/

You just need to take the saves you wish to use from their folder, and replace the existing saves in the steam directory based save folder. Be sure to "replace" if they have the same name.

Also, google and youtube are your best friend when it comes to save game manipulation in the Borderlands series. Check it out!

As Jayne said, just copy/paste the saves you want to use, not the whole folder
You can rename them if you don't want to erase your steam saves
