It's a mask. You even get it as head in BL2.

That's his own face.

Plastic surgery just sucks in the Borderlands universe.
it sucks? how can wilhelm get robot limbs?

Plastic surgery =/= cybernetic agumentations

It wasn't plastic surgery either, it was a mask that was created to replicate his face, then it was grafted on using those clamps so it wouldn't come off easily.

This. When you beat him at the end of Borderlands 2, the mask comes off. You look at his corpse after the fight and you see the scarred face.

Presumably it's some sort of hyper-advanced mask that molds itself perfectly to his face so that it moves with his face.

I can't remember to much. But I do know letting Litith kill Jack or you doing it yourself makes it different. One of the choices has Jack face down while the other had him face up so you could even see it. I think the one Litith shooting him has him face up.

have you even finished the game, it legit shows you how/what the mask is

Maybe he took one of his clones' face and wears that as a mask. Perhaps the guy we're gonna get in the dlc? :)

So essentialy, it'd be his own face as the mask (non-scarred). But, not entirely his own.

I'm guessing it will be his regular face by default and the Handsome Jack mask will be an optional or unlockable mask.

I'm actually quite interested to see the selection of masks they're going to offer. I'm hoping that there's plenty of masks that allow me to make him look unique and not just like Jack with a different hairdo.

Wait, are you talking about the jack from the dlc? That's an entirely different clone. That's not jack. So why would he get the scar?

i have a theory on how that mask was made. Please note that this is a theory in progress.

Handsome Jack's mask, it seems to be a perfect replica of a specific part of his face, I think Dr. Nina would do it. It was probably digistructed, maybe from the New-U station, which if you think about it would make sense, he is a programmer for Hyperion, which would mean he probably hacked New-U and made a clone, killed him, took the face, then got it grafted, if you look at the mask it shows an exact replica of how his face was in the events of the pre-sequel, same skin tone and everything, which could imply that he used an older image of himself. Even to the point that the eyes on the mask itself seem undamaged, like the blind eye doesn't show evidence of being blind while he has the mask on. If anyone wants to add on to this theory don't hesitate to do so.
