Research and Development. What are the buttons for?

On the map Research and Development u can find 3 buttons activated via groundlsam.
Someone knows what all 3 of them do?

I read somewhere that it opens a cage with an easteregg kragon. Haven't found it myself though.

There is 4 pads, they open the cage for benjamin blue, a skag who is sleeping in a cage (west from the entrance, north from the mad scientist girl who want to try rockets with tork brain).

As far as I know, he only gives random drops, comparable to a chest.

Its not that it drops random things. You throw down loot, the skag eats it, and pukes up new loot. Most of us have not found anything worthwhile though. And yes, 4 total. Dont even try until lab 19, cause one of the pads is in there.
