Nisha is easy to play, she's got an aimbot as her skill and is good to be used as an offensive character.
Athena, if you invest a lot of points into her shield, can become very powerful and a bit more like a defensive and support character.
Or you can go full offensive with a melee build and a melee shield.
I personally enjoy Athena more because I dont like the idea that the game aims for me.
Its usually not accurate, especially when enemies are flying or sprinting.
I'd rather use my own hand to aim :D
Personally I think Nisha is a 1 trick pony. No real team support, defenses, or buffs.
Anyways, I like Nisha better. Athena seems kind of boring, imo.
Best is Claptrap, though.
Agreed, but you know, in BL2, I very rarely used my skill, except in very sticky, I might really die soon situations or the easiest cop out, "I don't have time for this". But I reserve my opinion, I have not played yet.
My advice - if you are primarily playing solo, play Nisha, if you have a group that you frequently play with, then play Athena. Athena's group support it amazing - ranged rez, group shield and health regen, 100% damage absorb from the front, high health and shields make her very tanky.
Nisha is primarily offensive, although the left tree is heavily defensive. I would compare her most to the gunzerker, as she has some very strong damage dealing abilities.
Athena is more tactical to me, and I really like this. I would compare her more to the siren in terms of relatable playstyle. She is quite strong offensively, but has the obvious strong defensive option of the shield.
Which you enjoy more will depend on your playstyle. Personally, I prefer Athena, but my friend is the exact opposite. I will say that Athena's action skill takes a little longer to really get a feel for and use to its full potential. Hope this helps.
That is a common misconception. But if you look closely at the skills, you will realize that she can easily get 130% gundamage from it, even more with bonuses to the appropriate skills, which is actually MORE than the other trees offer.
