also you might note that chests are perhaps of diminished value in this game.
i have nearly 200 hours in already, I have seen legendaries only as
a quest reward
a boss drop
a standard mob type drop
and most commonly from vending machines.
purples are common out of chests.
but the best chests in the game cost you a taxing 40 moonstone to open even.
but i am saying it would be highly inefficient to use moonstone for anything else than grinding top level legendaries pretty much.
I wouldn't mind a list of where the off-the-beaten-path chests are, however. 8-)

Leave the zone, sell off/grind, then renter zone and do it again and again. 3 chests + several drops from a named badass.
I get at least 1-2 purples each two runs, and lots of blues.
