So Athena told my whole story, but I'm Fragtrap!

This irked me a bit. I liked the game overall, loved previous BL titles so i had no problem with more of the same. I hoped it would be so!

But the most jarring moment of my game was everytime Athena would use the first person when telling "my" story. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the character being played/selected telling the story? Everytime i would do something and Athena would chime in " I blah blah blah", or " blah blah blah me" i was like... Umm no b***h, TH3 CL4P did this!

Just something i noticed, how does everyone else feel about this?

Because Athena is the one telling the story, and the story is of four vault hunters helping Jack save the moon? I understand it can be jarring if playing solo but it wouldn't make Narrative sense to have, say, Wilhelm telling the story.

I LIKE IT HOW NO ONE HAS POINTED THE FACT THAT JACK SAW HE NEEDED LILITH TO CHARGE THE VAULT KEY THEN WHY DID HE HAVE TO USE ANGEL????

Hmm, but why would it not make sense to have another character tell the story? All 4 were involved in the opening scene and could narrate their own tale.

I am not playing the game at the moment, (got school to deal with) but I did spoil it for me, (no biggie, does not bother me) as I have started to watch youtube for information. But I think it would have been difficult to started the with a character telling the story that you have not even picked yet. I can understand OP's point of view, but just would have been more added material to the game.

So you click to begin and then you pick your character, say you picked ClapTrap, well, that you would be impossible, he can not tell the story, Wilhelm is dead and so is Nisha, Athena is the only one that could tell the story, she was not in BL2 and does not die. Just my two cents.

Because the story is told by Athena, who is captured by Lilith after the events of BL2. At that point in time, Wilhelm is dead and Nisha is dead (if you did the Lynchwood missions) or missing and presumably being hunted as an ally of Handsome Jack.
Claptrap still "lives", but considering he neither told about his adventures in BL2, nor has the combat and stair climbing routines left, one should assume that his memory was wiped or damaged.

Ah gotcha gotcha, I am really bad at following game lore. Didn't realise this was a story as told from the ending of BL2. All is well now, makes sense. Although Claptrap telling the story would be 50 bagillion times better!

If you looked at the pics during the credits you see one where claptrap gets killed by Jack and Hammerlock repairs him. You could say he had a memory wipe around that time of pretty much everything that happend on Elpis. Of course by how everyone acts around him, they probably wouldn't want to hear it.

That would involve 2K Aus paying the VOs for more lines, and needing a different into and outro cinematic for each character. In case you haven't notice this entire game screams laziness.

Im excited to see how another character intereacts with the environment. Willhelm is a lot of fun and in a way is very funny only having a few tag lines such as "No." AKA reflection of the typical manly man in real life.

No it doesnt. It really doesnt. Want to see laziness? Look for FIFA, CoD and similarly recycled titles, or any MMOs. Or, of course, Steam's #1 game and the reason for half its players at any one time, DotA2, which is 97% copied from the original DotA, and 3% ruining it with stupid balance decisions that would be more fitting to RIOT's LoL than to the original DotA.

Here is why. Willhelm was dead at this point, Claptrap had his memory of the events wiped, and Nisha was killed by the vault hunters in bl2...

For the little audio story telling it makes sense that athena tells the story like tina told it in her dlc. But it makes no sense that they added render videos with her like the outrovideo. Was kind of immersion breaking because she is the only one in the video.

You realize that claptrap has no memory or skills anymore and the other two are dead by the time Athena is questioned, right?
