Final Boss is Terrible
***Spoilers Ahead****

There is no other way to say it. Its tedious. Multiple stages of the same boss was never a good concept. And it still isn't. Watching the boss I just defeated climb back up and refill health and shields isnt challenging its frustrating.

So I have a request for the developers: Please make the final boss optional for New Game Plus and beyond. The fight is tedious and there is literally nothing fun about it. Its sheer frustration, especially considering the random and underwhelming rewards following completion.

I kind of liked the fight but it's the same exact thing three times and that wasn't so cool.

It was still a better boss battle than the Warrior though, the Warrior fight had several blind spots where he couldn't touch you at all, since all his moves were scripted and didn't target the players specifically, the Sentinel is at least nice enough to turn around and face you if you get behind him.

And saying he is exact the same thing all forms isn't fair, he gains new moves with each form(like Corrosive Sentinel's vomit), although admitelly the bulk of his moves remain the same.

I was more dissapointed that the Raid Boss turned out to just be the final boss with more health. Like, they could've made the Raid Boss something that emerged from the lazer cracking the moons surface or something, at least a new boss because there are barely any bosses in this game.

I found it just too damn easy. Played as Nisha and went with the middle skilltree. Dual Vladof pistols, trigger the skill, autoaim at the head, each phase dead after about two or three reloads. I went down a few times but the flying things were so easy that they were just floating extra lives for me.

And yeah, the loot was plain S to the HIT. I didn't get a single purple from him and none of the weapons were better than anything I had already equipped. At least the fight was visually pretty nice.

I thought the boss fight would have been better if they hadnt had each main stage have multiple stages by itself. Maybe if it had a third main stage instead of 3 mini stages for each main stage. Also yeah, the raid boss was super disapointing.

I Liked the last boss I guess the music fits great, but well he is easy but not more easy than the Warrior.
And he Invincible version is only difficult because of his shield

Yeah at first I thought everyone in my group kept dying right at the last second when she regained her health and shield. Then I was like, SERIOUSLY, how many times do we have to kill this ♥♥♥♥♥. Plus it was pretty much a straight forward fight. Shoot it and don't die. No special tactics or learning curve. I expect that out of mini bosses. She was way too easy for being the main boss of the game.

The only complaint i have for the last boss is that it's too easy, it takes about a second to figure out how to fight it. Other then that, i thought the design was totally badass and unexpected, not to mention very fitting for Borderlands.

I liked the final boss. Why? Because it does all of the things the bosses in Borderlands 2 DIDNT do.

The Sentinel Is a great example of how a boss fight should play out. You can actually get away from the fight without a scratch if you play smart, and the different forms each have different resistances, which constantly keep you on your toes and will have you constantly change your tactics (unless you're lazy and use explosive weapons)

I also liked how he wasnt what every single Borderlands 2 boss was: A giant pile of health and damage that you somehow had to get through. The Sentinel is more of a boss that rewards players for thinking and dodging, and punishes players who try to soak up damage.

Sure, he has multiple phases, but this is countered by the fact that each phase does not have alot of health. Hell, the first 4 phases only have you take out 1 health bar, instead of both his shields and his health.

The final boss is not that bad because of these reasons. If there is anything you guys hsould be complaining about, it should be the fact that the raid boss is just a recycled Sentinel. That is just lazyness.

The biggest pet peeve is that the raid boss is just the end boss with a bigger shield and HP bar. I don't care if the raid boss is/was "easy" because at one point or another people WILL find exploits/strategies to easy kill them ( every raid boss in BL2 had some easy kill strategy ... only Vora was considered "hard" ).

But reusing the end boss ? BS.

You serious ? With Nisha you just shoot and BAM he's dead .. WIllhelm ? With the right build and you can just stand there, laugh at the elem damage and shoot if Saint is active. And i'm sure the are similar strategies for Athena and Claptrap.

He's the easiest raid boss in the BL franchise.

I'll admit he is a bit uncreative, but difficult? I killed him when I was level 22. I did him as the raid boss at level 24 with oe other person and it was a piece of cake.

If Saint is active

If

I hate that word.

What I meant was that unlike other bosses in Borderlands 2, there were mechanics that you had to work around instead of push through in order to survive. I honestly dont know how you can ''just shoot'' to kill him, seeing as he has multiple phases, and the transitions through the first 4 will emit a nova that you have to dodge in order to stay alive. You also forgot the fact that the first phases can reflect your high damage bullets right back at you, so just holding down mouse 1 will actually hurt yourself. You also forgot to mention how the Sentinel will actively chase you down in his first phase and melee the living daylights out of you. And the fact that his slam and head spin in his second main form can one hit kill if you do not dodge it. And the fact that the final mini phase vomits a pool of acid on the ground, which (if you stay in it for too long) is a death for you. And the fact that he can surge the ground, causing constant damage to you if you donot find higher ground. And the fact that each mini phase has a different elemental resist, which forces you to change tactics and weaponry to maximize damage. So all of these different facts about the boss fight eliminate basically all of your stradegies (strategies, strade- damnit)

Nisha cant just shoot, because bullet reflection, phase transition, and high damage attacks
Wilhelm cant just laugh, because his action skill has *gasp* a cooldown rate. Relying on your action skill can be the death of you sometimes.

And you failed to mention any stradegies (strachedies, stragedies strade- I hate this word more than If) for the other two classes.

As they say in chess: Check. Your move.

It is still absurdly easy and brain dead for Nisha, I was able to kill all phases in less than 5 minutes with a blue jakobs shotgun and the Unforgiven skill. I didnt even have to try.

As someone that finished the main BL2 story the same day BLTPS came out (I use linux and BL2 released a week or so before BLTPS for the OS) and istantly jumped into BLTPS, here's my 2 cents: If the first time fighting the warrior is still fresh for you, the difference between the two bosses is massive in terms of creativity. I played BL2 with Axton and faught the Warrior using a rocket launcher. The boss itself didn't damage me once and all the damage I took (that mind you, didn't even break my shield) was from the rock-crystal-things. The Warrior just kept on jumping over me and taking my rockets to it's chest. On the other hand, the Sentinel actually felt like a boss fight, despite the fact that it only managed to damage me a few times (Athena's Aspis FTW). But at least it tried. I got hit by it's nova thing in phase 1, got swatted and puked on in phase 2 and it took me a few seconds to figure out what the hell was going on during the the-floor-is-lava move. Repetitive as the fight was, at least it was so much more boss-fight-y than the warrior. I admit I would have loved for a new raid boss (or even just a proper difficulty spike, I solloed raid sentinel) but yeah. At least it wasn't the Warrior. Or a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thresher.
