And saying he is exact the same thing all forms isn't fair, he gains new moves with each form(like Corrosive Sentinel's vomit), although admitelly the bulk of his moves remain the same.
And yeah, the loot was plain S to the HIT. I didn't get a single purple from him and none of the weapons were better than anything I had already equipped. At least the fight was visually pretty nice.
its hidden in a cave that has lava running out of it
And he Invincible version is only difficult because of his shield
The Sentinel Is a great example of how a boss fight should play out. You can actually get away from the fight without a scratch if you play smart, and the different forms each have different resistances, which constantly keep you on your toes and will have you constantly change your tactics (unless you're lazy and use explosive weapons)
I also liked how he wasnt what every single Borderlands 2 boss was: A giant pile of health and damage that you somehow had to get through. The Sentinel is more of a boss that rewards players for thinking and dodging, and punishes players who try to soak up damage.
Sure, he has multiple phases, but this is countered by the fact that each phase does not have alot of health. Hell, the first 4 phases only have you take out 1 health bar, instead of both his shields and his health.
The final boss is not that bad because of these reasons. If there is anything you guys hsould be complaining about, it should be the fact that the raid boss is just a recycled Sentinel. That is just lazyness.
But reusing the end boss ? BS.

You serious ? With Nisha you just shoot and BAM he's dead .. WIllhelm ? With the right build and you can just stand there, laugh at the elem damage and shoot if Saint is active. And i'm sure the are similar strategies for Athena and Claptrap.
He's the easiest raid boss in the BL franchise.
If
I hate that word.
What I meant was that unlike other bosses in Borderlands 2, there were mechanics that you had to work around instead of push through in order to survive. I honestly dont know how you can ''just shoot'' to kill him, seeing as he has multiple phases, and the transitions through the first 4 will emit a nova that you have to dodge in order to stay alive. You also forgot the fact that the first phases can reflect your high damage bullets right back at you, so just holding down mouse 1 will actually hurt yourself. You also forgot to mention how the Sentinel will actively chase you down in his first phase and melee the living daylights out of you. And the fact that his slam and head spin in his second main form can one hit kill if you do not dodge it. And the fact that the final mini phase vomits a pool of acid on the ground, which (if you stay in it for too long) is a death for you. And the fact that he can surge the ground, causing constant damage to you if you donot find higher ground. And the fact that each mini phase has a different elemental resist, which forces you to change tactics and weaponry to maximize damage. So all of these different facts about the boss fight eliminate basically all of your stradegies (strategies, strade- damnit)
Nisha cant just shoot, because bullet reflection, phase transition, and high damage attacks
Wilhelm cant just laugh, because his action skill has *gasp* a cooldown rate. Relying on your action skill can be the death of you sometimes.
And you failed to mention any stradegies (strachedies, stragedies strade- I hate this word more than If) for the other two classes.
As they say in chess: Check. Your move.
