Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

How to farm the "Unfarmable Bosses"
First of all let me say this is my only complaint with the pre-sequel and really think this needs to be patched ASAP.

And yes I know you can use the "Grinder" or Speed farm the Vending Mahcines for Legengaries. But some of us like to go kill things and see that Gold loot drop. So this is how you do it.

List of Unfarmable Bosses
  • FlameKnucke –(Nukkem)– during TVHM Quest
  • Even-More-Disgusting Tork –(Flakker)– All the Little Creatures Quest
  • Rooster Booster –(Oxidizer)– Grinders Quest
  • Gigantic Ice Shuggarath –(Zim)– Bunch of Ice Holes Quest
  • Meat Head –(Meat Grinder)– Rough Love Quest
  • Drongo Bones –(Fatale)– Rough Love Quest
  • Rabid Adams –(Marek's Mouth)– Treasures of ECHO Madre Quest
  • Boomer –(Kerboom, Baby Boomer)– Nothing is Never an Option Quest
  • Bruce –(Supernova)– Another Pickle Quest
  • Power Suit Noob –(Shooting Star, two skins)– Red than Dead Quest
  • Zarpedon –(ZX-1)
  • Zarpedon Ascendant –(Bulwark, Legendary Skins)
  • Meg –(Torrent)– Kill Meg Quest
  • CL4P-L3K- (3DD1.E) – Eradicate Quest
  • Tiny Destroyer –(Moonlight Saga)– Lab 19

How to Farm the Unfarmable Bosses

First off, you need to go to the boss whom you wish to farm and hit the Pause Menu followed by selecting ‘Save & Quit’ option.

Next thing you need to do is to access your Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel ‘save-file’.

Go to your ‘save-file’ and right-click on it and select ‘Properties’. Once inside the Properties, check the ‘read-only’ option and continue playing the game.

After you kill the boss, check whether you acquired your desired loot or not. In case, you didn’t acquire your desired loot, go back to the Title Screen and load your last save.

If you got what you desired, uncheck the ‘read-only’ option in the ‘Properties’ and continue the game to start playing normally.

Bosses that can be farmed by normal methods...
  • Deadlift - Vandergraffen
  • Red - Black Snake, skins
  • Belly - Striker, Heads
  • Tork Sappers - Bonus Package
  • Bosun - Cryophobia, heads, I think skins as well
  • Felicity - Quasar
  • X-STLK-23 - Eridian Vanquisher Class Mods, skins
  • Corporal Bob - Ack Ack, skins
  • Lazlo - Lazlo's Freezeasy (he drops a blue version of Quest item)
  • Iwajira - Thingy
  • Final Boss - ZX-1 and Eridian Vanquisher Class Mods, Bolshy Longnail and Black Hole
  • Nel - Skullsmasher

Thanks for that info, although I'd find it personally too much trouble.

I wouldn't/don't mind if you have one or two thingies in the whole game that can't be farmed repeatedly, but the number of them in TPS is really disheartening. It's a shoot and loot game, FFS.

If/when I wanted to play a first-person RPG I'd play Fallout's or Skyrim's or something.
Uhh... I don't know whether it's to do with your choice in the Eradicate! mission but CL4P-L3K is entirely farmable and is located (and spawned constantly) with Eghood
If there are multiple drops from one boss, will it be possible to not mark profile.bin file with read only, and when you get one of the drops, you go to the Shared Stash cabinet in Concordia, put the item in there, save and reload, and boss will be there, and so will the item in the Shared Stash?
I'm not home to test it myself, but in theory it will work, right?
Good guide, thank you. Also, CL4P-L3K is farmable only if you don't destroy him.
ZX-1 can be farm from sentinel i just got 2 from it.
I don't mind the thing that not every legendary can be farmed in this Borderlands title but i thank you for mentioning which boss drops heads since i do want to know which head every character can get :)

Agreed, those "one time only during mission" drops sucks, besides like you said, there's a lot of them. Not saying that everything should be farmable, but there's just too many of them.

You can't probably even get that many shields/grenades from other than random drop or farming vending machines.
They need to either put most of those "bosses" and/or their drops to respawn from some other source than chest/vending machine, or give us option to grind shields, grenades and maybe oz kits.

On top of that, it sucks for example that lvl 52 mob drops 48 item..

I rather kill something, take its loot, even if it does not drop legendary and save/quit, than farm vending machines or alt + f4 some mission mobs. Even if two latter ways gives way more legendaries/hour.

But that was happening in previous Borderlands titles as well. Farming stuff on 72 or OP8 in BL2 often dropped loot around level 68-70 or OP6.

Yes, but at least you could farm many items.

Point is that if you add all those above mentioned features, this game has very bad loot system compared to two previous titles.

I'm not asking to make everything farmable or raise drop rates and so on, just make it more like it was in previous titles.

From what i can tell the drop rates are way better than in Borderlands 2 and as i said it on other discussions i personally don't mind the fact that a good number of legendaries can not be optained through pure farming.

Legendaries are pretty powerful items and after getting almost all the legendaries in BL2 i got pretty bored.

The loot system in the borderlands titles was never perfect to begin with (especially with the physx "bug") but i'm one of the few that do like the attempt 2K Australia made with this one.

Legendary weapons can be optained via grinder and since you have to farm two legendary weapons to get one back (which will be pretty random even which the correct purple weapon type input) you'll have to farm a lot to get what you want - and that's what i got from most posts. People want to farm stuff and not grind it together but using the grinder requires even more farming when it comes to weapons so this should be even more fun for these people? ;)
so do you exit the game completely or just to the main menu before checking the read only box?
Hey guys do you know if any of the darksiders drop any legendaries? Also i found a boss in Triton Flats behind the little racer's home, named Oscar or something. Does he drop anything?
it doesnt feel clean to farm it that way, im just going to wait for the patch.

Lol!
Well here's my 2 cents:

I could not farm the Stinkpot in BL2. And that sucked.

I can barely farm anything I want in TPS. And that sucks even more.
