Do you do less damage to enemies with the skull icon?

I'm quite underleveled for the main mission right now. I'm level 21 and most enemies seem to be around 25.

Aside from being ahigher level than me, is your damage nerfed against enemies with the red skull logo?

yes you do quite a bit less damage to them

Perhaps that's why I'm finding it hard. Best smash out some side missions.

Also, are bosses meant to be higher level than you, or the same?

I faced Zarpedon at Level 20 and she was 25. Was pretty hard, her leap attacks one shot me.

Bosses are designed to be fought exactly 2 levels above your own. If an enemy has a skull, you do infact deal reduced damage, to dissuade you from going far ahead, because a lvl 25 melee athena could ♥♥♥♥ up level 35 enemies without trying.
