Also, I'm stuck on the same mission, but different. I crashed just after knocking on the window to talk to the 3rd scientist. No biggie, I go to restart the game and.. nothing. Just "Find last Collegue" and "Retrieve Scientists: 2/3" No mission waypoint anywhere in that area. I leave the area, it tells me to go straight back in there but as soon as I do, nothing.
Here's how I fixed it: Fast travel to another place and then back. He will drop the cloaking device again when you get near him. Hammer E (use) while you run towards him.
Items falling through floors ( and now walls and ceilings thanks to this dumb low gravity crap) has plagued borderlands players from the get go on borderlands 2. It was pinpointed down to one common factor. Anyone running physx high - very high were losing loot by the tones and getting pissed. Farming doc mercy for 150 kills for an infinity pistol to watch it fall through the floor lost for ever. If you dropped your phsyx to medium it went away for some but continued for others. The only safe bet was to turn it all the way to low. Lose all the pretty side effects, which having played it at release on ps3 i was kinda used to not having anyways, and your loot stopped going through the floor. I had this problem when i picked the game back up on pc. You could stand in sanctuary where the fast travel hub was with physx medium - very high and immediately go through the floor. Turn it to low and it would stay.
Has nothing to do with low gravity physics, nothing to do with a new bug, this has been here a long time. Just put physX on low. As for watching your loot fly through the air into death zones and behind invisible barriers on cave walls due to this really retarded low gravity idea of theirs, there is no solution
