NOVA shield sold, can I complete the quest?

Due to the terrible new system where you can't mark things, trash, anything that you don't mark as favorite gets sold, I accidentally sold the nova shield that is apparently required for the quest. Since the quest requires travel to another zone, the shield is not available for buyback. Any way to complete this quest or is that pretty much it?

BTW: Please bring back the red X for marking trash. This new system leaves a bunch of non-favorite stuff in my backpack that I have to look through EVERY TIME I get a new gun. Before I new what the new items were because they were unmarked (marked the REAL favorites with star, marked the trash with X, unmarked = picked up since my last pass through marking stuff).

Thanks Taco, I figurd those are options, just wondering if there was another way to disable all the cameras. I'll just skip this quest, thanks.

That's a shame, I really wish they had an abandon quest type system in the game. Although then the forums would be flooded with people not know where their next story mission can be picked up.

Yes it would be nice to be able abandon quests, not just for ones that get messed up, but even just to keep your quest log clear of quests you never plan to complete. But really, in BL2 mission items couldn't be sold - so simple - like that flynt's pistol for clan wars, or Marcus' guns for the elemental weapon training, they were mission gear that you couldn't sell or lose until you completed the mission. Another example of something that worked that they got rid of (like the red X for marking trash in your inventory).

Hopefully they'll release a patch to bring this game back up to BL2 standards in terms of usability.

Yep agreed, probably can be fixed with a patch. There is a lot of things needing a patch right now but at east the game runs well.

Can you use another, vendor bought or found nova shield, eventually? Or is the shield given somehow special, with a bigger-than average radius? It looked pretty standard to me, but I didn't peer at its stats with close scrutiny.

You can...I either sold or dropped it somewhere...didn't remember the dialogue telling me to use the nova shield...I just bought a new one and finished that quest...

Any electric nova shield will work. Just move on until you find one.

Also find you a higher level nova shield. It will make the job quicker.

Thank goodness for this threaf! I am facing the same dilemma. I am currently stuck in the game becuase of one glitch they need to patch and one mistake in selling that shield. I cannot progress in the story any further because of the Red Belly unlimited min scav glitch and I have completed all available side quests but the security camera one. Keep looking for a nova shield to purchase, but no luck so far. As far as the glitch goes, I have defeated Red Belly 3 times and countless waves of mini scavs after and no luck in triggering the prompt to advance the story. Only good thing about the glitch is I leveled up a few times due to defeating them 3 times. I will hopefully find someone online who still has shield. Thanks!

You can, if you happen to get same shield that has electrocute when depleted.

Yeah, I have been looking, in loot and stores, nothing yet. I have marked the quest as "ignored" for now and will have to come back to it. Im just driving around, defeating random scavs and creatures til they patch it for the story glitch.

You can skip that quest and still advance the story, I just went on to Concordia after not being able to complete the Nova quest. Still haven't found an electric nova shield to buy and I'm lvl 7, but I probably won't go back anyway now even when I find one.
