A New Direction Mission game breaking bug

In part 1 of A New Direction mission I have collected 3 prisms and killed 20 scavs, but the mission will not update. I go back to the mission providor, and he does not respond. I've tried fast traveling, dying, and reloading the game, and even played through some side missions, and nothing works. This is a story mission too, so without completeing it, I cannot progress any further in the game.

Anyone think they know a way around this? Or are we going to have to wait for gearbox to patch it to continue playing the game?

P.S. until theres a fix, I'm going to play through again on another character, and see if I encounter the same problem once I get to that point. I'll update here when I find out.

I played through a second time, and got to the A New Direction mission, and managed to get through it without any problems.

I have the same issue, wasted 12 hours trying to retrace my steps, doing side quests till there aren't anymore to do. I can't believe it hasn't been addressed given the sheer number of other people who have experienced this issue :(

for me. I cannot access to Crisis scar - - but Mission was done due to I've already played this with my friend.

I did not have this issue with any of characters, but I had another player jion my session to fix this issue and apparently it fixed it. but of course, I had not completed the mission on a new/lower character. Maybe just have a friend make a new character and join his/her session?

Hey Daylight, I think I have the same problem, I did it with friends but coming back to my main mission I see in the log already checked the 'reach crisis scar' but the door to go through is closed and can't talk to the Claptrap who gives the mission and opens the door. It's the same for you, do yo have any solution?

Hi there I use Gibbed.BorderlandsOz.SaveEdit (cheat engine) form Se7ensin.com. Just google it.
All you have to do is Import a mission from other character (should be - 5lv from your main character or equal >> you should ask a save file from your friend, a clean one) overwrite to your save profile.
Why -5 or equal ? because if you import 30lv mission profile to your 20lv profile >> Monster lv 30 and you are lv 20, you know what I mean.

I'm having the same problem while playing as Athena.

The door by the claptrap is always closed. Plot point is that he broke it. The access to Crisis Scar is via a 'secret entrance'. Look on the map to the left slightly, there is a cave, then jump pads, you fight some guys and can progress. You may have just missed the dialogue. I do that sometimes when in a combat situation.


If you still have the same probelm, I suggest submitting a ticket via Gearbox Software Support: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/home
In the meantime, other things you can do:
- Exit game, close Steam, reboot, releauch steam, relauch game. (reason, checking for cloud sync issues).
- Exit game, verify game cache. (in case there is a problem with some files, does happen).
- Exit game, uninstall game, reinstall (I hate this option as it'd tedious and I don't like recommending it, but it IS an option when fixing things).
- Play other characters. If other characters all have the same issue... process of eliminiation, is that it's an issue with your game/file/system and the only way you'll get past it is to wait for support help, or:
- Find a nice someone who has completed the game/ got past that part. Ask them very nicely to help you by getting another character to just past that part, _then_ you join them and progress with them. I don't remember if BL: TPS allows you to FastForward story parts you've already completed... so you may have to stick with that person to complete the game. BUT. It is a possible option.

Welp. February second, 2016 and I've just experienced this same bug.

3/3 prisms collected
20/20 scavs killed

No destination indicator and SC4V-TP has nothing new to say.

Use the aforementioned Gibbed, and perhaps un-check the mission, and do it over. Or join a multiplayer game with someone who has not yet done it, and piggyback.

Not sure if this is still relevant, but if you get close enough to the door that won't open to save at the point behind it, just die afterwards, and you will respawn where you need to be.

sorry for necro-ing the thread, i'm playing just now n got the bug, prism 3/3, kill 20/20.
the bug happened on my end is cause i use "spawn multiplier mod", so i got the prism 3/3 on the first floor, which i think the cause for the game breaking as i remember that i gotta kill the 2 named enemy on the open balcony on the top floor, to get their prism.

done all the things (including reinstall) except the import save data / friend joining.. cause i mostly playing alone,

but i found a way using gibbed save editor.

1. on the "raw" tab, select the "missionplaythrough"

2. in mine, on the left side (select type) there are 3 lines, but choose the one with active mission on the right side (properties) "GD_Co_Chapter04.M_Co_Chapter04"

3. on the right side (properties), select the "mission list (collection)", click on it and a new window appear

4. there are several lists of missions you've already done or in the process, but for it, select "GD_Co_Chapter04.M_Co_Chapter04"

5. on the right side (properties). select "ObjectivesProgress (collection)", when you click this one, it will show a dropdown box with numbers

6. for the bug 3/3 & 20/20 on me, the numbers start from above is: 1 - 3 - 20 - and so on. so i tried to change the "3" and "20" to "1" and "10", and voila, in the game, your progress would be as it is, prism 1/3, kill scav 10/20, and then the progress continue normally.
