What do you think of Wilhelm?
Im playing Wilhlem for the same reason why I played Axton in BL2. Gun buffs. I love it when the most powerful thing in your arsenal isnt your special skill, but yourself instead. However, I feel like wolf and saint are lacking a bit. Wolf's damage is OK but it seems like he can't really ever do much aside from take a few enemie's shields down or dent a badass' health a bit. Saint's HP regen seems pretty useless as well. Could be because Im only level 8, but I think they could be buffed a bit. What do you all think?

There are skills that give the both of them buffs, so what you are asking for are already i nthe game.

Like I said, its probably because im just low level. But is there a skill that increases Saint's HP regen? I dont remember seeing one.

I've got Wilhelms damage resistance to insane levels right now I'm taking guys 5 levels higher than me. Make sure to grab that moxxi's drink and you can soak up just about anything.

That is what im currently thinking about Wilhelm

I'm playing Wilhelm and I just don't feel the synergy with my skills. Everything is a buff to my pets unless it's just more health/more shields for me.

That other guy is wrong. There is a skill to increase Saint's HP regen. Should be in the second row in the third skill tree.

I dunno, I've been playing a Cyber Commando spec and using laser weapons and I'm just kinda tearing through everything like tissue paper. Even with fairly outdated guns. He seems really freaking good to me.

I play Wilhelm for the same reason (he’s the closest to Axton and Roland) but I prefer to use my ability as much as I can for the sake of distraction to then take out enemies with critical or provide additional fire support, or in Wilhelm’s case, healing.

Now I agree with you that Wolf seems weak for firepower and Saint is slow to heal, but if you build your abilities correctly you should see a significant improvement. I’ll be referencing my build below:

http://thepresequel.com/Wilhelm/235013113210300000000032411113321

With Wolf in the Hunter-Killer tree, the two key abilities to stack its damage are Laser Guided (third row) and Rolling Thunder (fourth row). So long as you paint targets and those targets are killed by you or Wolf while painted, you gain 5 seconds of duration which equals a stack of rolling thunder and thus a slight damage buff for wolf. The more quickly you can take care of enemies and the more there are, the bigger the damage boost you can get. Venom Bolts (second row) and Omega Strike (last row) can help make this process faster but I feel that wolf’s main purpose is to quickly jump from target to target in order to gain duration so he can gain stacks of rolling thunder and thus add to his damage. This can be a pain for bosses but some like Red Belly have practically infinite minion spawns so this method is still usable, just not as much as I wish it could be (running from a boss while painting targets and getting kills can get a lil hectic if you know what I mean). Also, I know that when they bring in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, Wolf will become pretty useless and thus its up to Saint in the Dreadnaught Tree to keep you alive. Having a high Energize skill will allow saint to keep your shields up to minimal levels as well as slightly increase health regen (which is always nice) but other than that most abilities within Dreadnaught are a little underpowered for my taste…

Personally I recommend for regular and true vault hunter mode you rely more on your ability for Wilhelm, but when ultimate Vault hunter mode comes out, take all your points out of Wolf and put them on you, because if there’s anything we have learned about ultimate vault hunter mode…

This is very similar on what I plan on doing. And I have to agree there. Your action skill is only going to be a minor aid.

His dialogue is incredibly boring - I wish I picked someone else for that reason alone. I get what he's supposed to be, but it's still incredibly dull.

I might just go with Nisha for the snark and wit.

What are you talking about? How was he black in Borderlands 2?
I've seen videos of him close up with the game stoped in cheat engine. He's about as black as a snowflake.

Lol, Wilhelm was the Hyperion Robot/Cyborg what had the Energy Cell in Borderlands 2 and was commanded by Jack himself without to spoil more of the events but his Color was Yellow except his Head what was Human was White.

The only thing what i find funny is that only Athena had no role in BL2 so im interested what Characters will come next, Tiny Tina ? ^^

i am only 11 but so far Wilhelm seems overpowered to me. I gotta disagree with the OP, the wolf practically clears an area for me, lasts a long time and is up frequently. I like the regen as well. I am in the middle spec tree, no pet buffs. Maybe things will change later, its too ez right now.
I do wish i wouldve done claptrap, the story is great and i think the dialogue wouldve been hilarious with CT over Wilhelm

Oh man yes, I just finish my 1st playthrough just yesterday, THANK GOD for that 1st boss to drop that electric laser-beam gun, the moment I used that to fried monsters & humanoid alike I went straight for 5/5 ‘Laser Focus’ just to keep that laser gun usable until I gotten that (Spoilers) Battle AI.

I like lasers so much I choose to do side missions that would reward me with lasers 1st. Oh, & I max out my laser ammo 1st.

I got 5/5 ‘Man & Machine’ too because the 2nd line of skills just doesn’t fancy me enough. & I like to run & gun more than shoot & hide.

Then I went with ‘Power Fist’ because I remember that thing about him slowly becoming machine in the making of trailers so what the hell rite?

& man, best decision ever. By that time I am going up the Helios Station again & with the various laser guns I have I went into the space station laser blazing; electric for humans & corrosive for mechs, I would continue shooting, run up to a enemy , with half his/it heath gone, “PUNCH” bloody splash, continue & repeat.

So Awesome, I was so OP I didn’t even notice the flashing skulls at their health bar until much later.

I only use Wolf and Saint when my health bar flash ‘!’ to keep myself continue shooting & punching, Wolf were there to take care of flying enemies since continuous laser beam is apparently very hard to shoot flying targets.

I continue to speck into ‘Divert Power’ & ‘Welcome to the Gun Show’ to make Wilhelm stronger & tougher. While continuing to fight enemies that have flashing skulls beside their health bars.

Then I got ‘Vengeance Cannon’ & I finally got my 1man killing machine Wilhelm that I pictured in my head when I was playing Borderlands 2, that Wilhelm that could fight off the 4 Borderlands 1 vault hunters by him/itself.

Here’s my 1st playthrough skill tree:

http://thepresequel.com/Wilhelm/000000000005500101405100000000000

Oh, & ‘Shock Absorbers’? Totally useless, I only speck that skill to get the legs.

Really? I thought his lines are great, especially at times when Jack is becoming more Handsome. He is just so, well, Evil, in a very badass way.
