"Nova? No problem bugged"?

I'm throwing a nade at myself my shock shield goes off the 0/5 blinks red and nothing happens.

I had to back away from the safe a little so the nova would hit all of the cameras. I was also in the air when it went off, not sure that's really necessary.

Never mind didn't realize you had to do it all at once in the middle

I got stuck here too so here's what i did in case someone else is stuck as well.

Walk into the electric gate where the safe is and immediately walk to the center of the room. This should be enough shield damage to set off your nova.
